Pot Noodle Have Found 2018's Weirdest Real Jobs

These are seriously strange.

Ever thought about what you could achieve if you spent less time cooking and more time chasing your dreams? Yes, oiling that dodgy hinge - but bigger than that, we're talking life goals. Over the last year Pot Noodle have given a reel of people around the UK the chance to learn their dream job in the time they saved eating Pot Noodle, Pot Pasta and Pot Rice.

To find these weird jobs, Pot Noodle took common skillsets and hobbies and researched each at length to uncover the most unique careers attached to each one. Basically they've saved you a few days of really intense Googling.

The jobs ranged from the weird and wonderful (running your own Cat Cafe, or designing a streetwear collection, anyone?) to the downright epic (sign us up for Water Slide Tester any day). We've made a handy rundown of the very best they explored across the year so that you too can feel inspired, pop the kettle on and get cracking on the career change that'll make 2019 one to remember.

Water Slide Tester

Hobby: Thrill seeking

Pot Noodle

"I've always felt at home in the water, like a fish," Jamie says, before being told he will have to try out the scariest slide in the waterpark - the enormous, very, very high Freefall.

The job of testing out water slides consists of three key things: The adrenaline rush, and whether it is stressful or stress-relieving, the size of the splash when you hit the water, and finally, what makes the slide unique. The Freefall? Jamie gives it 10 out of 10.

Teddy Bear Hospital

Hobby: Arts & Crafts

Yes, teddy bear hospitals actually exist. Gemma and Kate got the chance to work at the Bear Essentials teddy bear hospital in Ireland, which has been running for 18 years and receives teddies in need of care from all around the world, from South Africa to Finland and America.

You'll learn bear anatomy, how teddies are put together, how to carry out repairs and even how to dress the bears once they've been patched up. It takes a steady hand to be a bear surgeon though, so you'll need to bear that in mind (sorry).

Shark Tank Cleaner

Hobby: Cleaning & Maintenance

If Jaws kept you awake at night, look away now. Believe it or not, you can actually get a job as a shark tank cleaner - if you dare. According to dive officer Jamie, sharks are misunderstood animals who act as nature's cleaners - the "trash cans of the sea". But remember, they don't like sudden movements and they're skittish, so move slowly. Hand signals are important too, so you can tell others if you're in trouble. Gulp.

Luxury Dog Hotel Manager

Hobby: Hospitality

Pot Noodle

More of a dog person? The pet industry is worth an incredible five billion pounds and the luxury dog hotel business has taken off. Best friends and dog lovers Sedona and Finella were given the chance to work as managers at Liverpool's Love Ur Dog boutique hotel, which had an amazing 800 canine visitors over just five weeks.

Playing with and feeding the dogs is all part of the job, but you'll need to clean up after them too, of course. And as it's a five star hotel, you'll need to dish out spa treatments. Jack the Jack Russell was given a luxury wash and haircut - what a good boy.

Ice Sculptor

Hobby: Art & Design

If you've got artistic flair, then creating ice sculptures might be for you. Matthew and Ed got the chance to create an ice unicorn at the award-winning ice sculpting specialists Icebox, which has created everything from a whole bar to a pool table out of the stuff. They've even created ice cars.

First, the initial carving is done with a CNC machine and then chainsaws are used to get the basic design. You'll then need to use (carefully) chisels, ice picks and small saws to add detail, before the whole sculpture is finished off using a grinder.

Whether you're more of an animal person or a thrill-seeker, the perfect job for you is out there. And if you save time in the kitchen with Pot Noodle, you may just have the chance to chase your dreams.
