This Summer, Baymax is back in search of those needing assistance with the release of Baymax!, a sequel to 2014’s Big Hero 6, on Disney+.

The first-ever animated series from Walt Disney Animation Studios will follow Baymax, and his creator Hiro, as he tries to provide assistance for everyday folk around San Fransokyo.

The spinoff will reunite some of Big Hero 6’s original cast for six episodes, including Scott Adsit, Ryan Potter, and Maya Rudolph.

When is Baymax! coming out?

All six episodes of Baymax! will be available to watch on Disney+ from 29 June 2022.

Baymax! trailer:

Under the tag line ‘Everyone needs a hero’, a full trailer of the series was released by Disney Animation on 12 November 2021. In the trailer, we can see Baymax exploring the streets of San Fransokyo and lending a hand to everyday people.

A second trailer, released this month on National Streaming Day (20 May), further explores the communication barriers that come with being a robot offering support, as Baymax learns to socialise through some awkward interactions.

Who is in the cast of Baymax?

American comedian Scott Adsit will reprise his role of the inflatable healthcare assistant, alongside Ryan Potter who returns as Hiro Hamada, the robotics prodigy and creator of Baymax. Maya Rudolph, best known for starring in Bridesmaids (2011) and Saturday Night Live, once again will voice Hiro’s Aunt Cass.

New voices joining the cast include Gilmore Girls’ Emily Kuroda, Nickelodeon’s Lilimar, Zeno Robinson, who recently starred in Disney’s Turning Red, and comedian Jaboukie Young-White

The series was created by Roy Conli and Bradford Simonsen, with direction from Dean Wellins, Lissa Treiman, Dan Abraham, and Mark Kennedy.
