Disney Plus' Willow 2022: Cast, Trailer And Release Date

Willow is an American fantasy Adventure TV series coming soon to streaming service Disney Plus. The forthcoming show is taking place years after the events of the original ‘Willow’ film, which was released in 1988. Director Ron Howard stated “This isn't a nostalgic throwback. It’s a creative lean forward, and it’s a blast to be a part of it all”.

But who is in the cast of Willow, is there a trailer, and when will the series be released?

Willow Cast:

Warwick Davies is reprising his role as the lead star and reluctant farmer, William Ufgood, in Willow and is joined by Ellie Bamber, Ruby Cruz, Erin Kellyman, Amer Chadha-Patel and Tony Revolori.

Davis made an appearance on behalf of the series at the Star Wars Celebration recently, calling his return to the character “a dream.”

Although there were reports of his appearance, Val Kilmer won’t be returning to the screens as a rogue swordsman for the upcoming series. Kilmer, who has struggled with his speech following a two-year battle with throat cancer, will still have his character, Madmartigan, remembered in the show. Speaking on the matter, Davis said “We wanted his character to be a part of the story. We wanted him to be in the show”.

Willow Trailer:

The news of the show’s release was divulged during a Lucasfilm panel at Star Wars Celebration, where the series got its first teaser trailer, along with some first-look pictures.

The short clip does not give away much, but it has an older William Ufgood returning to save a future empress from the clutches of evil. He’ll join an extensive and unlikely group of adventurers to set off on a dangerous quest to save the world, and it looks as if he’s clearly more experienced than the 1988 movie.

Willow Release Date:

The ‘Willow’ series is the first non ‘Star Wars’ project Lucasfilm have put out since 2015 and it is coming to screens on Disney+ on November 30th.
