Bella Hadid has rarely kept her cards close to her chest when it comes to her love-life, having previously dated The Weeknd during their on-again, off-again relationship. But with the Canadian singer appearing to diss Hadid in one of his new songs, fans are eager to find out whether the model has indeed moved onto someone new. 

Hadid’s recent decision to rejoin lingerie brand Victoria’s Secret marks a “very complicated” decision for the supermodel. Hadid will become the newest face of the brand’s high-profile campaign VS Collective - which also includes Priyanka Chopra, Hailey Bieber, Naomi Osaka and Megan Rapinoe.

Bella Hadid’s boyfriend is Marc Kalman, a 33-year-old art director. The pair have been dating for over one year, but a source told Page Six that they kept much of their relationship in the dark since meeting in the pandemic. 

Kalman has worked on many creative projects, including Travis Scott’s branding and the album art for Milk Studio’s Made Fashion Week. Despite dating such a widely-known celebrity like Hadid, Kalman prefers to keep his private life, well, private, making sure his Instagram follows suit.

What is Bella Hadid’s dating history?

In 2015, E! Reported that Hadid and The Weeknd were dating after they were spotted “hanging out in Coachella and were flirting lots.” The source also reported to the publication that although the pair had met before, the festival was "where they really clicked."

In September of that year, the rumored couple solidified their relationship by leaving New York Fashion Week holding hands. But by December of the same year, the couple were reported to be on a break, with a source telling E!: "Their schedules got very busy, and it really cut into their relationship. They are still in each other's lives though, just not in the same exclusive capacity."

By February 2016, the pair were back on and shared their red carpet debut at The Grammys, where The Weeknd swept up two awards of his own. Then, in November People magazine reported that they were well and truly off. “Their schedules have been too hard to coordinate and he is focusing on finishing and promoting his album,” a source said to the outlet.

At the end of the month, The Weeknd performed on the same Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show stage that Hadid was modeling on, and that awkward moment indeed ensued. When Hadid was asked about the situation, she told E! News: "This is his second year performing, and I think he's going to kill it. There is no awkwardness. He is my best friend, and I am excited because I am walking during his performance."

By January 2017, The Weeknd was spotted with Selena Gomez, and Hadid unfollowed the Lose You To Love Me singer on Instagram. After 10 months of dating, The Weeknd and Gomez called it quits, and The Weeknd was then seen leaving Hadid’s apartment two weeks later.

In 2018, Us Weekly reported that Hadid and Gomez were back on, and kissing at Coachella. The Weeknd performed a set at the festival, including an emotional performance of Call Out My Name, which fans believed to be about Gomez.

One year later, in August 2019, E! reported that The Weeknd and Hadid had broken things off once again. A source said to the publication: "They are in different places right now, physically and mentally. Bella is prepping for her fashion week commitments and Abel is working on his music and his upcoming acting debut." 

However, a source told Entertainment Tonight a different version of events, stating that the couple "haven't broken up, but are working through things like normal couples do." The couple were not spotted together around that time, aside from a reported run-in at a club. 

In October 2019, E! reported that Hadid and The Weeknd got back together for her 23rd birthday. But by 2020, although a source told Us Weekly that Hadid and The Weeknd were “in touch” with one another, they seemed to have parted ways for good.

Hadid then started dating Kalman in 2021, although a source told Page Six they actually began their relationship at the start of the pandemic.
