Big Brother has just been confirmed for a comeback, leaving fans wondering: who could be in the cast for the 2023 series?

The much-loved reality TV show is coming back after a five year break, with the show promising to introduce us to a cast of people from “all walks of life” who will move into the famous Big Brother house with cameras filming their every move.

The new series has yet to confirm a release date, with ITV only confirming that the series will take place next year.

So, who can we expect to see in the cast of the new Big Brother? Read on to find out…

But, as of yet, the cast for the new series has not been confirmed - although we can expect the show to follow a similar format to previous series, with plenty of drama from the cast to boot.

Paul Mortimer, director of reality commissioning and acquisitions and controller of ITV2, ITVBe and CITV, said the new show arriving next year will be 'refreshed' and 'contemporary' while containing all the familiar format points.

ITV said in its announcement that the 2023 show will bring back "clever tasks, nail-biting nominations and live evictions". It added the public will play a key role in deciding which contestant walks away with "a life changing cash prize".

How do I apply for Big Brother?

Fancy yourself joining the cast of Big Brother? With a significant cash prize up for grabs and the promise of fame, it’s no surprise many people are wondering how they can bag themselves a place on the show.

Sadly, applications for Big Brother 2023 aren’t open yet. But fans on Twitter have said they are counting down the days until they do.

One Twitter user said she is “checking every day for when big brother starts accepting applications”.

Another joked: "in 7 months time i’m going to make it to the last stage of big brother applications and then decide not to go on it last minute and make it a personal quirk."

Applications for previous series were based on a one minute clip shared on social media alongside a submission form on the channel's site. Contestants have had to be over 18 years old in past series.

ITV said in its announcement for the series: "A new cast of carefully selected housemates, from all walks of life, will take up residence in the world’s most famous reality TV home for up to six weeks, with cameras capturing their every move, and the nation following every twist and turn."
