Daniel Kaluuya Shuts Down Interviewer Who Tells Him 'Get Out' 'Ticks Boxes'

The British star is up for the award for best lead actor at this year's Oscars

British actor Daniel Kaluuya shut down an interviewer who told him his movie Get Out 'ticked a lot of boxes'.

Responding to the comments, Daniel said: "They're not boxes though, articulating a black experience is not a box. We're articulating our truth. We're human beings."

The 29-year-old actor is nominated for best lead actor for his role in Get Out, which is also up for the prestigious best picture award.

In an additional interview, when asked by the academy hosts how he knew that the film was going to be a hit he replied, 'when I see memes - when I see the memes'. A fella after my own heart.
