Having been fired from Star Wars spin-off The Mandalorian earlier this month, Gina Carano claims she wasn't contacted by Lucasfilm and found out after seeing the news on social media - along with everyone else.
The MMA athlete turned actor was sacked from the Disney+ show after she uploaded an offensive post to her social media account, which compared the treatment conservatives of in the US to the brutality suffered by the Jewish people in Nazi Germany.

Carano - who played bounty hunter Cara Dune - was interviewed by Bari Weiss on Weiss' Substack newsletter.
She explained to Weiss that Lucasfilm decided to leave her out of press and promotion for The Mandalorian's second season. Then she said: "That was the last time I was contacted about any type of public statement or apology from Lucasfilm."
She went on to explain how she found out she'd been dropped along with the rest of the world: "I found out through social media, like everyone else, that I had been fired."

Carano was slammed for her views in the wake of her controversial post and later deleted it but the hashtag #FireGinaCarano had started to spread.
Shortly after, a spokesperson for Lucasfilm said: "Gina Carano is not currently employed by Lucasfilm and there are no plans for her to be in the future.
"Nevertheless, her social media posts denigrating people based on their cultural and religious identities are abhorrent and unacceptable."

Days ago, the 38-year-old hit back after she signed a new movie deal with Ben Shapiro through his conservative media outlet The Daily Wire.
Speaking to Deadline, Carano said: "The Daily Wire is helping make one of my dreams - to develop and produce my own film - come true.
"I cried out and my prayer was answered. I am sending out a direct message of hope to everyone living in fear of cancellation by the totalitarian mob. I have only just begun using my voice, which is now freer than ever before, and I hope it inspires others to do the same."
She added: "They can't cancel us if we don't let them."

According to reports, Carano will produce and star in the upcoming film, which will be released to the site's members exclusively.
It will also form part of The Daily Wire's partnership with Bone Tomahawk producer Dallas Sonnier.
Shapiro, a right-wing political commentator in the US, said he was over the moon to have signed up Carano.
