Will Smith has given fans an update on how his training is going, after vowing to get back in the 'best shape'. Check it out below:

The 53-year-old actor came out earlier this year and told fans he was in the 'worst shape of his life' after piling on the pounds during the coronavirus pandemic last year.

Despite being grateful and appreciative towards his body (refreshing), he said it was time to make a change and ditch the midnight muffins.

He explained back in May: "This is the body that carried me through an entire pandemic and countless days grazing thru the pantry. I love this body, but I wanna FEEL better." No one can argue with that.

And now, the dad-of-three has given fans an update on how his mission is going and it seems getting out of bed is a slight hindrance.

Will shared a video of himself being screamed at down the phone to get the f***k up because 'Sundays aren't an excuse to rest'.

The guy at the beginning of the clip asks the camera: "Are you in your bed right now?" Guilty. As. Charged.

He goes on to pull his face mask down and shout-mime: "GET THE F**K UP."

The camera then turns to Will who seems to engage with the tough motivation despite looking pretty comfortable in bed.

He pulls the crisp white covers off him and jumps out before multiple clips play of him training in and out of the gym.

Will captioned the post: "And to think Sundays used to be for muffins," before hash tagging 'best shape of my life', in reference to his YouTube series.

The six-part show is expected to chronicle Smith's journey to health and wellness as he tries to lose the weight he put on over the Covid-19 pandemic.

If the clips of his training are anything to go by, it looks like he's doing pretty well to say the least.

Commenting on the post, one fan wrote: "Will getting that I Am Legend body back!"

While another wrote: "Stay fit man we all need you, we've lost a lot. A LOT of greats this past few years.

Smith has been completely transparent about how he feels towards his body and shared a picture in May wearing boxers and a jacket (he's Will Smith, he can wear what he wants).

In the caption of the picture, he wrote: "I'm gonna be real wit yall - I'm in the worst shape of my life."

Well, not no more.
