Baby Shark boy is all grown up as he makes big career announcement 10 years on
Wanna feel old? The child dancer from the 2016 ‘Baby Shark Dance’ video is now 17 years old.
Park Geon-roung was just six when he starred alongside a young female co-star in what became the most-watched video in YouTube history with over 17 billion views.
The two-minute clip sees Geon-roung dance along to the catchy lyrics ‘baby shark doo doo doo doo doo doo’ - sorry if the hook is yet again stuck in your head.
Incase you didn't know, ‘Baby Shark’ follows the story of a family of sharks, from baby to grandparents, going hunting for food with the little fish swimming away to safety.

Its simple and very catchy lyrics are designed to entertain young kids and help with early motor and language skills.
But the star of the video is continuing his music career with The Pinkfong Company, the creators of 'Baby Shark', and will record songs under the name Baby Shark Boy.
His first track ‘WAVE’ will feature K-pop star Joohoney from Monsta X, and is set to drop in a week’s time on 20 August in Korea and a day earlier in the US.
“I have always been grateful that people remember my appearances from my childhood. Ten years ago, I danced next to Baby Shark, but now I want to share stories I wrote myself and my own voice,” Geon-roung told Business Korea.
The Pinkfong Company noted to The Korea Herald that a decision on whether or not this will be on a one-off project will be made after the single is released.
“This isn’t just about bringing back the boy from the video. It’s about him telling his own story, and we want to carry that new beginning forward authentically,” a company representative said.
A teaser for ‘WAVE’ suggests 'Baby Shark' will be included in the video as a nod to his childhood fame - yes.
The clip showed him dancing and playing basketball with friends before taking a drink from a bottle of water and seemingly being transported to a shallow pool.
Geon-roung is of course all grown up now and obviously looks unrecognisable from the young boy who starred in the viral video.
And over the past few years, Geon-roung has gone big on social media, racking up more than 161,000 followers on Instagram.
But it’s 'Baby Shark' that he will always be remembered for.
“Never underestimate the numbers of replays a parent will give their toddler to get a break. Sincerely, parent with toddler currently replaying YouTube to get a break,” one person commented on Reddit.
“I remember eight year old me would ate this up at summer camp, especially when the shark attack would happen and we would all attack each other,” another added.
“Still can't believe that this pop perfection was snubbed at Grammys,” someone else said.
