Moment Jeff Bezos brutally face-plants scrambling to greet fiancée after Blue Origin space flight

He seemed to completely overlook the huge ditch which was right in front of him

Jeff Bezos might be head over heels for his fiancée Lauren Sanchez, but he went ars* over t*t for her today (14 April).

The billionaire, 61, took quite the tumble in the Texas desert as he rushed to greet his wife-to-be following her brief trip to space in Blue Origin's New Shepard rocket.

He ended up brutally face-planting the floor as he ran over to the spacecraft to open the door for Sanchez and her fellow spacewomen: singer Katy Perry, CBS presenter Gayle King, civil rights activist Amanda Nguyen, film producer Kerianne Flynn, and former NASA rocket scientist Aisha Bowe.

I guess that's what you get for trying to do the gentlemanly thing, eh Bezos.

Unfortunately for the Amazon founder, the humiliating moment was caught on the livestream of Blue Origin's historic launch and the clip has since been circulating on social media.

It shows Bezos bounding over to the space capsule and peering through the windows of the New Shepard, before he appeared to try and make a beeline for the door.

Seemingly distracted by the excitement of reuniting with Sanchez after her 11-minute jaunt into space, Bezos completely overlooked the huge ditch which was right in front of him and fell right into it.

Take a look at the footage here:

Bezos quickly scrambled to his feet after face-planting the floor, although he probably copped a mouthful of sand in the process.

Then again, the famous women who were part of the Blue Origin mission did the same when they exited the rocket, as most of them kissed the ground after emerging safely.

Perry was seen holding a daisy flower into the air in a sweet tribute to her daughter, who she shares with Orlando Bloom, before bowing down and planting a kiss on the earth itself.

Bezos could try and blag it as though he was merely setting a 'kiss the ground' trend with his tumble, although some might find it hard to believe after watching that clip.

Falling in a ditch while the eyes of the entire world are on you is obviously a pretty embarrassing situation, but the businessman didn't seem that bothered by it when he finally had Sanchez back in his arms.

The couple, who began dating in 2019 shortly after Bezos's divorce from MacKenzie Scott was finalised, were seen in a tight embrace as they reunited.

A teary-eyed Sanchez said of the journey into space: "I can’t put it into words. We got to see the moon! The Earth looked so quiet…I don’t think you could describe it."

She then ran over to her other relatives who were also eagerly awaiting her safe return from space.

The celebrities adventure into space, which is known as the NS-31 mission, marks the 11th time that humans have headed off in the New Shepard rocket and its 31st flight in total.

The rocket is fully autonomous, so there are no pilots at the helm.

Perry belted out 'What a Wonderful World' as the all-female crew experienced weightlessness whilst in orbit.
