Brooklyn Beckham recently spoke about something he bonded with his dad David over after he didn't make it to Beckham Sr's 50th birthday party.
For anyone who wants to feel obscenely old, the man whose right foot was a godsend for England on a football pitch just turned 50, though his eldest son wasn't at the festivities.
Plenty of famous faces appeared at David's birthday, including former teammates, the actor Tom Cruise and chef Gordon Ramsay, but Brooklyn wasn't in attendance.

Apparently, he'd told his family ahead of time that he wasn't going to be there, and David sent a message to his son over social media afterwards 'you were missed' at a camping and fishing trip in Scotland that formed part of his celebrations.
TMZ claimed that Brooklyn's absence from the party was due to his wife, Nicola Peltz, not wanting to be at events where Romeo Beckham's girlfriend, Kim Turnbull, was.

Whatever the matter, Brooklyn didn't make it to his dad's 50th birthday and it was up to Romeo to deliver a speech, which is said to have gone down rather well among the guests.
However, Brooklyn did speak in warm terms about his dad recently at a racing event.

The eldest Beckham child was at a Formula E two-day racing event where he was accompanied by Times journalist Phoebe Luckhurst.
He told her about his 'love for racing' at the event, where celebrities and influencers got to drive Formula E cars around a track in Miami.
Apparently, he is quite good at driving cars, while at the same event MrBeast (real name Jimmy Donaldson) crashed on the second day.

Brooklyn also admitted that his love of cars started 'very young' and explained: "It’s something that me and my dad bonded over. My dad’s had some pretty cool cars."

He said he wasn't sure whether his family had been keeping track of his driving but he was 'sure' they'd see it on his Instagram.
Brooklyn didn't speak much about his dad at the event beyond saying how he and Beckham Sr bonded over cars, but he has paid tribute to the England legend with his helmet design.
It's got the number 237 on it, which he said are his 'lucky numbers' and also correspond to the shirt numbers David wore during his football career.
Beckham Sr proved himself worthy of the number 7 shirt for Manchester United and wore the same number for England, while at Real Madrid he wore the number 23 as a tribute to Michael Jordan.
