Flack admitted to hitting her partner Lewis Burton over the head with his phone after claiming he'd been unfaithful, an inquest into her death heard, as she'd told police: "I had his phone in one hand and mine in the other. I whacked him round the head. There was no excuse for it. I was just upset. I admit I did it. He was cheating on me."
At the time, she'd also stepped down from her role as presenter for the ITV reality dating show, so she would 'not detract attention from the upcoming series', with Laura Whitmore, who took up the presenting role after Flack, later sharing messages that the 40-year-old had sent her after her announcement.

On 15 February 2020, Flack was found deceased in her London flat.
The X-Factor host's mum, Christine, is taking part in an upcoming documentary, Caroline Flack: Search for the Truth, which will look into her life in the months leading up to her death.

Now, in the trailer for the new two-part original documentary, Christine has shared what her 'biggest regret' is as she continues to grieve for her daughter.
She said: "I think Caroline would be pleased with what I'm doing. I wish I'd done it then, before she took her own life, and that's my biggest regret. That I wasn't shouting like this, then. But now, I've got nothing to lose, the worst thing in the world happened, with losing Caroline."
In a recent interview with The Guardian, Christine shared some heartbreaking details surrounding her daughter's case, as she told the publication: "I’d been trying for four years to understand what happened, and I still had so many questions. I’d come to a brick wall, so I went ahead.
"And whatever happens next, I always say that no one can do anything worse to me now. Nothing worse can happen than Caroline dying."
