He wrote: "Well this just happened! Utterly overwhelming and joyous in ways I couldn’t have even imagined.

"In awe of my partner Roxy Horner who has been amazing throughout this journey and is going to be the greatest mum ever."

The heartfelt post continued: "So excited to have started a family of my own. Having vowed I’d never be that guy I am now 100% going to be the parent that shows everyone endless pictures of their kid.

"I also wore skechers to hospital, I think I must accept I am a full-blown dad now."

And as for the name?

Whitehall concluded the post telling his fans: "Name wise after this weekend I think ‘rice, rice, baby’ has a nice ring to it."

The comedian and model first announced they were expecting a baby earlier this year on 15 May, with posts to each of their Instagram pages showing them and their baby scan photographs.

Whitehall has previously shared the reason why he wanted to have a child while his dad is still around.

Jack said he now has to prepare for being a 'full-blown dad now'.

Before becoming a dad himself, Whitehall recently guest starred on Steven Bartlett’s The Diary of a CEO podcast where he made an emotional confession about his upcoming fatherhood.

Whitehall confessed he still tries to impress his father, who is 'very honest' and will 'cut through everything and be very honest with me'.

He explained: "The other thing that we haven’t really touched upon and something that is very present in my mind with all of this, in terms of having a baby, in terms of trying to achieve as much as I can in my career is that I want to do all of it with him around, and obviously I know that that’s not going to be the case forever and so… that’s why."

The Fresh Meat star then choked up on his words and says he 'wasn’t going to do this' as tears filled his eyes, revealing: "I wanted to have a baby because I wanted him to be around to know my child and to spend time with my kid."

"Seeing how amazing he is with my niece, he’s the most loving person ever, so I want him to have a relationship with my kid.

"And then I wanna do all of these things and have success in my career that I can share with him and he can see these things and enjoy them."

He finished up: "I love having him there for all of that and so yeah, I do still think a lot about impressing him. He’s approval still means a hell of a lot to me."

Congratulations Jack and Roxy!
