Reese Witherspoon defends eating 'filthy' snow off car after sharing bizarre drink recipe

The Legally Blonde star made an interesting beverage out of the snow that had blanketed her car.

Brits are pretty accustomed to the rules surrounding snow - steer clear of it if it's yellow, don't chuck snowballs at passing cars and try not to break your neck when it turns into that black slushy stuff.

Reese Witherspoon mustn't have learned those valuable life lessons though, as she has broke the internet after sharing her bizarre drink recipe where the main ingredient is a hearty helping of snow.

Take a look for yourself here:

The Legally Blonde star, 47, has managed to mortify her fans with her latest TikTok post, which demonstrated how she prepares her 'Snow Salt Chococinno'.

Although we've all probably shoved a bit of snow in our mouths as kids, most people leave that sort of tomfoolery behind when they reach adulthood - but not Reese.

After waking up to find her house was blanketed in snow, she told her followers it inspired her to 'make a recipe'.

Narrating the process, the actress said: "First, we scooped the snow into cups and we added salted caramel syrup and some chocolate syrup. Just because we like how they taste together.

"Then, we decided to add some cold brew, just to have a yummy coffee flavour."

She then got to work on polishing off her wintry treat - and yes, she did eat it with-her-spoon.

It's not the contents of the drink that is rubbing people the wrong way - it's more to do with where she got the stuff.

In the clip, Reese can be seen heading out to her driveway with two mugs.

She then filled them to the brim with snow to create her resourceful beverage... by scraping them against a mound of the stuff which had smothered her car.

People were stunned by where Reese Witherspoon grabbed her snow from.

Stunned social media users pointed out that it must be 'filthy', due to the fact she just grabbed the snow straight off the window of her motor.

One said: "I thought eating snow was like dangerous to our health."

Another wrote: "Am I the only one concerned that she scooped it off of her car?"

A third chimed in: "What if birds pooped in that snow?"

And a fourth added: "I love you but no thank you. Snow is sooo dirty full with bacteria."

But Reese didn't think anything was up with her snow-gathering method and later shared a follow up video defending it.

In a TikTok shared on Sunday (21 January), The Morning Show alum said: "There's so many people on here saying snow is dirty so we went and took snow from the backyard and we microwaved it and it's clear.

"Is this bad? Am I not supposed to eat snow?"

Reese held up a clear glass of water to support her claims, before explaining that it only snows 'maybe once a year' where she lives, so she saw it as a bit of a YOLO moment.

The actress reckons her Snow Salt Chococinno is to die for.

She continued: "So we're kind of in a category of 'you only live once' and it snows maybe once a year here. I don't know!

"Also, I want to say something. It [the drink] was delicious! It was so good!"

Obviously another internet user was ready to rain on her parade about her Snow Salt Chococinno - again - and warned the A-lister that eating fallen snow can make you 'seriously sick' unless it is 'filtered'.

Who in their right mind picks a fight with the Harvard Law graduate Elle Woods? Anyway...

Reese responded: "OK, talking about the snow not being filtered... I didn't grow up drinking filtered water. We drank out of the tap water. We actually put our mouths on the tap! Then sometimes like in the summer, when it was hot, we drank out of the hose, like, we put our mouth on the hose growing up."

"Filtered water? Maybe that's why I'm like this. So, what you're saying to me is I have to filter the snow before I eat it? I just can't. Filtered snow. I don't know how to do that."

That's my girl. Snow Salt Chococinno, anyone?
