Elf star who played alongside Will Ferrell sent to prison as mugshot is released
An actor who appeared in the movie Elf alongside Will Ferrell has been jailed in connection to a pair of contempt of court charges.
Faizon Love, who played the department store manager in the much-loved Christmas movie, was arrested on 16 June in Tampa, Florida, Entertainment Weekly reports.
He was booked into Florida's Orient Road Jail, with an arrest warrant having been issued for Love in connection with two contempt of court charges that related to a child support case which dated back to 2019.
Documents for the case containing the details are sealed, but the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office has released his mugshot showing the actor in an orange jumpsuit.

Love remains in jail in Florida.
The actor has appeared in a number of projects over the years, though Elf is the one most people will have likely seen Love on screen in.
He also played the protagonist's friend Sweet in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, was in the comedy film Couple's Retreat and has appeared in a plethora of other film and TV projects in a career that started with him being a stand-up comedian.
NBC reports that Love is also facing an assault charge in San Diego, California, from an alleged incident in 2024 which he has pleaded not guilty to and is set to have a trial for in August this year.
The alleged incident involves the accusation that the actor threw a credit card reader at a hotel clerk, for which he was charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon, with an enhancement to the charge due to great bodily injury to the alleged victim.
Next month a judge is expected to hear a motion on Love's behalf over the possibility of him completing a pre-trial Mental Health Diversion program.
If the motion is granted then Love can receive treatment instead of jail time and criminal charges are dismissed.
The alleged victim claimed that Love became angry after being told there was no vacancy at the hotel after he had booked using a third-party app, testifying to a court that he sent from 'zero to one hundred real quick' and claiming he kept asking if they knew who he was.
She further claimed that she went to hospital and received treatment for concussion and still has health problems including a sensitivity to light.
