Elton John once revealed there's 'not much left' of him after various surgeries over the years.
Being rich and famous doesn't shield you from the perils of old age, and after six decades in the music industry, Elton John is certainly feeling like a man of 79.
During a tour for his 2024 documentary, Elton John: Never Too Late, the 'Rocket Man' singer reflected on his overall health, telling fans in attendance at the New York premiere that 'there's not much of me left'.
"To be honest with you, there's not much of me left," he told the audience, before listing off the various parts of his body which have been removed or replaced over the years.

"I don't have tonsils, adenoids or an appendix. I don't have a prostate," he said (via PEOPLE).

"I don't have a right hip or a left knee or a right knee. In fact, the only thing left to me is my left hip. But I’m still here. And I can't thank you [enough], you’re the people that made me."
That isn't all the health complications which the 'Tiny Dancer' singer has faced in recent years either, as a nasty eye infection in 2024 led to him experiencing extensive vision loss.
The 'devastating' infection meant that John was unable to see out of his right eye and had limited vision in the other.
Meanwhile, the singer also had a pacemaker fitted in 1999 after being diagnosed with an irregular heartbeat.
Has Elton John retired from music?
In 2023, John announced that he was officially retiring from life as a touring musician after completing his 300-show Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour.
John explained at the time that he'd decided to wave goodbye to life on the road in order to prioritise family life with his husband David Furnish and their two sons.
However, the singer and pianist hasn't turned his back on music altogether, as he isn't against performing the odd one-off show now and again.

In fact, the 'Rocket Man' singer is currently scheduled to headline the 2026 Rock In Rio event alongside Maroon 5, Jamiroquai and Mumford & Sons.
John was also suggested as a potential musical act to perform during Tyson Fury's fight with Anthony Joshua.
The bout, which is set to take place at the end of this year, will be held in London – and Fury's manager is hoping to see 'an iconic UK act' perform on the night.
"We’d still like to pursue an iconic UK act on the show – someone like Noel Gallagher, Robbie Williams, Manic Street Preachers, Elton John or even Rod Stewart," Fury’s manager Spencer Brown told Sky Sports, after it emerged that the original choice, Dua Lipa, was likely to be unavailable.
"I’m sure one of these artists would love to take her (Lipa’s) place. It’s going to be an iconic night of British boxing, a fantastic spectacle."
