Eric Dane revealed that he almost got into a fight with Josh Duhamel as the two got into a heated exchange on-set.
Dane tragically passed away earlier this year aged just 53 after being diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
The actor and dad-of-two has posthumously released a memoir, titled My Book of Days: A Memoir in Moments, in which he opened up about life and living with ALS, including the first signs he noticed that something was wrong.
Elsewhere in the new book, Dane wrote that he and fellow actor Duhamel, 54, almost came to blows while filming NBC series Las Vegas in 2004.

In the chapter, which is titled The day I lost my mind on camera, Dane wrote: “I’m on set, shooting a guest shot for the show Las Vegas. We’re about to film a fight scene.

“I ask the lead, Josh Duhamel, to please not grab me by the tie during the scene. He promises me he won’t.”
Dane explained that at the time he was suffering from a herniated cervical disc in his neck, but said that as the director called ‘Action’, Duhamel ignored his instruction and pulled on his tie.
“Fire rips through my neck,” he went on.
“I go, ‘Whoa, whoa, whoa, we have to stop.’ He apologises, I grunt from the pain, and then, take two. He pulls on my tie again.”
Dane said that at this point, he called on the scene’s director to ‘rein in’ Duhamel, who then apologised and explained that he’d simply been ‘caught up in the moment’.
Dane continued: “Fine. Okay. Take three, and son of a b***h, he grabs my f***ing tie again I whip off my suit coat and I say, ‘Let’s go, you p****-a** actor.’
“I ball my hands into fists and I come at him. Nobody calls ‘Cut’, the camera keeps rolling, and to the world who sees the whole nasty scene, I’m the aggressor, the hothead, I start the fight.”
Dane went on to say that he later regretted the incident and that years later he apologised to Duhamel for his actions.

In the memoir, Dane said that the pair had seen each other since and that they were ‘cool’ but added: “I want to say it again. Josh, I was wrong. I should’ve walked away. I’m sorry, dude.”
Dane, who is best-known for his role as Dr Mark Sloan on Grey’s Anatomy, died on 19 February around a year after he publicly disclosed his ALS diagnosis and just two months before his final acting performance in season three of Euphoria aired.
In a statement at the time, his family said: “He spent his final days surrounded by dear friends, his devoted wife, and his two beautiful daughters, Billie and Georgia, who were the centre of his world.
“Throughout his journey with ALS, Eric became a passionate advocate for awareness and research, determined to make a difference for others facing the same fight.”
