Jake Paul responds to 'leaked' boxing rules for Mike Tyson fight circulating online

The YouTuber isn't happy with the rumours about his big fight

Jake Paul has responded to the 'leaked' boxing rules for his biggest fight yet.

The YouTuber-turned-boxer is set to take on legendary former boxer Mike Tyson in a Netflix special live event in Texas.

It was confirmed earlier in the month that ‘one of the greatest heavyweight boxers of all time’ would be taking on Paul in the biggest YouTube boxing fight yet.

Set for July, the viral star said on X: “Whether you’re tuning in on Netflix or showing out in person, whether you’re team Paul or team Tyson, or whether you’re a lifelong boxing fan or watching your first fight, you’re not going to want to miss this event.”

But as fans get excited (or just curious, to be honest) for the event, ‘leaked’ rules for the fight have been circulating online - and Paul’s not happy.

Rumours have been popping up that the YouTube star would have to wear headgear like an ‘amateur’, while the legend, Tyson, wouldn’t wear any.

And social media star Petey also claimed in a TikTok that Paul would be able to ‘tag in’ his big brother Logan if he needed to.

Now that really would make for quite the YouTube event.

But Paul has absolutely slammed the rumours in a new episode of BS w/ Jake Paul.

“It’s so sad that millions of people believe that. It’s f**king absurd,” he said.

"First of all, obviously, none of that’s true… They’re so f**king stupid. Anyone who believes that sh*t should not be allowed to vote.

“It’s sad. We live in a f**ked up world. Humans are getting more and more stupid every single day. It’s crazy, bro.”

His business partner, Nakisa Bidarian, also took to Instagram to slam the headgear rumours.

“Unequivocally there is no headgear for Paul vs Tyson,” he wrote.

“Haters spreading fake news but it won’t stop the 10’s of millions of views.”

It is not yet known if the bout will be officially sanctioned.

But 57-year-old Tyson is feeling confident about the special event.

“I'm very much looking forward to stepping into the ring with Jake Paul at the AT&T stadium in Arlington, Texas,” he said.

“He's grown significantly as a boxer over the years, so it will be a lot of fun to see what the will and ambition of a 'kid' can do with the experience and aptitude of a GOAT.

“It's a full circle moment that will be beyond thrilling to watch; as I started him on his boxing journey on the undercard of my fight with Roy Jones and now I plan to finish him.”

Tyson is set to face Paul on 20 July.
