Jason Sudeikis finally admits what he got wrong in Olivia Wilde relationship after 2020 breakup
Jason Sudeikis has revealed how things went wrong in an admission about his separation from former partner Olivia Wilde.
The pair split in 2020 after being together for nearly 10 years, Sudeikis now opening up about what he thought had led to the breakup in an appearance on the Talk Easy podcast.
Speaking to the podcast's host Sam Fragoso, Sudeikis, who starred in Ted Lasso, also opened up about what the media got wrong in coverage of the breakup.
“Oh, gosh. I mean, a million little things,” he said. “But, but what’s interesting is that it allows you capacity for empathy for when others go through those.

"And you need not be as lucky as we are to get to do something that we love.”
He went on to say that he wouldn't 'wish it on anyone' because 'I don’t think it really moves the needle'.
"And to be clear, this isn’t like, all evil is just misunderstood or something like that," he added.
"I just mean these, interpersonal situations that then get portrayed as being these binary situations of right and wrong… It’s always more complicated, more human than that.”
Sudeikis, 51, also took a moment during the interview to praise the work that Wilde, 42, has been doing since the split, which has included producing and directing films, as well as continuing to pick up acting work.
"Olivia loves what she does and is very, very good at and always has been," he said. "I’m thrilled for her."
Wilde has also herself opened up about one particular incident in the separation where she was served with custody papers while on stage at CinemaCon.
Speaking to the Call Her Daddy podcast with Alex Cooper, she said that she would 'never forget' the incident.
"I'll just say that now with enough space behind it, the part that I can laugh at is that obviously it was incredibly traumatising," she said.
"There's so many elements to that. But I get through it because weirdly as women we're taught to muscle through the most insane experiences.
“I was like ‘just finish your speech!’ Got through it, went backstage, completely like dissolved into a puddle.”
She said that Sudeikis told her ‘that he did not know' that his representatives would serve her the papers while she was on stage, adding that 'I need to believe that in order to continue'.
Sudeikis and Wilde were engaged for seven years but never got married, and after their breakup Wilde started a relationship with Harry Styles in 2021, which soon became viral news.
Wilde and Styles had worked on the movie Don't Worry Darling, which she had directed herself.
She also spoke about her relationship with Styles, including headlines which had suggested that she 'moved on too quickly', saying: “There was never any public understanding, of course, because they're not a part of our private lives, but of that breakup.
“The public, once they assign this identity to you, then they just confirm it, everything's confirmation bias.”
