Javier Bardem once responded to an interviewer's offensive question about working with his wife, and was praised for what he said.

The experienced actor wasn't a fan of one journalist's sexist question, which took place during the press conference for one of his films back in 2018, titled Everybody Knows.

In the Spanish-language flick, he doesn't play the partner of wife Penélope Cruz's character, but stars alongside her, as well as Argentine actor Ricardo Darín.

Bardem has starred in several films alongside his wife, such as Vicky Cristina Barcelona, Jamón, Jamón and The Counselor, to name a few.

The couple reportedly started dating in 2007, but have always remained out of the spotlight, choosing to keep their relationship private amidst their Hollywood fame.

After making it official in the Bahamas in 2010, the couple have since welcomed a son, Leo, born in 2011, and a daughter, Luna, born in 2013.

The respect and love they show for each other has been lauded by fans, and it stood out during a 2018 press conference with Bardem, when he had a commendable response to a reporter's question.

Off-camera, the journalist asked the actor, translated from Spanish: "How do you feel being the only man in the world who enjoys working with his wife?"

Not really the most insightful or most respectful question in the first place, it turns out that Cruz was part of the panel as well.

There were some nervous chuckles from the crowd, as Bardem looks unimpressed before making a bold response.

The Eat Pray Love star simply said: "The question is of extremely bad taste," which was followed by some clapping and cheering from the crowd.

This moment did the rounds on social media, with several other users also agreeing with his response and approach to the question, as they took to X to share their thoughts.

One wrote: "The gist of the question is legit. 'Do you enjoy working with your wife?”'Simple. Yet the 'reporter' had to editorialise and shade, because, of course."

Another commented: "RIGHT ANSWER. I LOVE THIS GUY. ALL MACHO AND BETTER FOR IT."

A third added: "See this dude is one of the most classy guys ever! True gentleman."

A different user said in reference to a past film: "Man didn't get the joke and switched to Anton Chigurh for a second"

One other user shared: "This is what a feminist looks like."

It's fair to say that Bardem earned the respect of many, that day.
