A psychologist has reviewed footage of Jimmy Savile's stint on Big Brother and revealed the 'threatening' comment made by the disgraced TV presenter.

Savile had been a fixture on British TV for decades and was best known for being the eccentric presenter of BBC series. However, this image was shattered when horrifying evidence that he'd sexually abused hundreds of people across five decades came to light.

The presenter died before the allegations were uncovered - meaning that he never faced justice for his actions - however, he will be forever remembered as a predator who used his power to commit horrifying acts of abuse.

Five years before his death, Savile appeared as a guest housemate on Celebrity Big Brother and earned £150,000 for his two-day stint.

Savile made numerous comments throughout his 48-hour appearance on the reality show, which seemed harmless at the time, but now hint at his horrifying true nature.

Reviewing footage for an article in The Sun, psychologist Jo Hemmings identified a number of red flags she noticed in his behaviour - including a comment which now appears particularly 'threatening'.

Savile's time on the show focused around him fixing various items for the celebrity contestants - a nod to his famous series - who wrote to him about their concerns.

As housemates wrote down their requests for jobs that needed doing, Savile said: "Don't forget ladies, I'm available most weekends for home visits."

Explaining how the comment appears much more sinister in retrospect, Hemmings said: "The phrase seems menacing and threatening now, given what we now know, but at the time, it may have seemed silly, but innocent enough.

She continued: "This was very much part of Savile’s strategy, to say daft but meaningless things.

"It's a highly effective cover for the predatory behaviour that followed."

The comment wasn't the only chilling statement which Savile made during his time in the house, with the disgraced presenter telling Coronation Street star Rula Lenska, he said: "I would want to marry all of you ladies for at least 24 hours."

Upon meeting Chantelle Houghton - who entered the house posing as a celebrity and went on to win the show - Savile kissed her hand before saying: "I know that many fellas love you, but they don't love you with the sincerity and tenderness I do."

He then kissed her hand again before adding: "I always tell the truth even when I'm lying."
