J.K. Rowling appears to take huge swipe at Harry Potter stars in ongoing feud

The British author doesn't seem to be a fan of the child stars' later work

It appears that J.K. Rowling still holds a grudge against the stars of the Harry Potter franchise, if her latest tweet is anything to go by.

The author, 59, seemed to take a huge swipe at Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint in a savage post shared to X last night (18 March).

It's no secret that Rowling no longer sees eye to eye with the trio who brought her Wizarding World to life in the eight Harry Potter films.

She told the child stars they 'can save their apologies' in April last year - suggesting there is no hope of them ever burying the hatchet - after they criticised her controversial views.

It all started back in June 2020 when Rowling shared several social media posts which a lot of people deemed as transphobic - including a host of Harry Potter actors.

In response, Radcliffe apologised for the 'pain' caused by the rhetoric and said he hoped it wouldn't 'taint' the films for fans in an open letter for LGBTQ+ organisation, The Trevor Project.

"It's clear that we need to do more to support transgender and non-binary people, not invalidate their identities," the 35-year-old said, while adding that the fallout with Rowling was 'really sad'.

However, Radcliffe said he didn't 'owe' the author anything simply because she penned the books which inspired the Harry Potter films, explaining that he hadn't spoke to her in several years.

Watson took to X to share her support for the trans community, telling her followers: "Trans people are who they say they are and deserve to live their lives without being constantly questioned or told they aren't who they say they are.

"I want my trans followers to know that I and so many other people around the world see you, respect you and love you for who you are."

Grint also said in a statement at the time: "I firmly stand with the trans community and echo the sentiments expressed by many of my peers. Trans women are women. Trans men are men."

In an interview with the Times two years later, he added: "I liken JK Rowling to an auntie. I don't necessarily agree with everything my auntie says, but she's still my auntie. It's a tricky one."

Well, it turns out that aunt has still got a few more things to say, Grint.

Rowling appeared to reignite her feud with the Harry Potter actors yesterday with her response to a tweet which asked: "What actor/actress instantly ruins a movie for you?"

Quoting the original post, the author added: "Three guesses. Sorry, but that was irresistible," alongside three laughing emojis.

Obviously it doesn't take a genius to work out which threesome she was referring to, but social media users still filled in the blanks for anyone struggling.

A few even replied to the post with pictures of Radcliffe, Watson and Grint in their Hogwarts get-ups.

One person commented: "A cute girl, a boy with glasses, and a boy with red hair come to mind. Their names escape me, since I haven’t seen them in anything for quite some time."

Another wrote: "Savage."

A third added: "JK I had to read this four times to understand the shade."
