Katie Price slammed by PETA over ‘dangerous’ video of her dog that could have ended in ‘tragedy’

Animal rights organisation PETA previously offered Katie Price £5,000 to give up animals

Katie Price has yet again been criticised by PETA, this time over what they're calling a ‘dangerous’ video of her dog that could have ended in a ‘tragedy’.

As many are aware, the media personality, 46, has owned numerous pets over the years, including horses, dogs and cats.

Along the way, however, she's had to deal with the deaths of five of her dogs, her horse and a chameleon, according to the Daily Mail.

And last year, PETA offered Price £5,000 to give up on owning animals.

Elisa Allen, Vice President of UK Programmes and Operations at PETA, wrote a letter to the reality star, proposing that she consider 'recognising that things have gone horribly wrong with many of the animals you have acquired, resulting in criticism you would no doubt rather avoid'.

A representative for Price told Yahoo at the time: "PETA continue to comment on Kate in the media, but when Kate has previously asked for Elisa to meet her openly and get in touch directly... They don't.

"So once again we'd encourage Elisa and her PR team to get in touch directly instead of sharing quotes for quick wins."

Now, a year later, PETA has once again come after the former glamour model after she filmed a video of her dog in a fast-moving car, as reported by The Sun.

Watch her video below:

In the clip, which was reportedly shared on her Snapchat, it appears to show Price's dog hanging its head out of the window of the passenger seat.

"Anyone else have a pet like this?" the mum-of-five wrote in the text overlay.

In a statement provided to LADbible, a PETA spokesperson said: “While it’s wonderful for dogs to enjoy the great outdoors and lovely when guardians include them on suitable outings, it can be damned dangerous to have the car window lowered enough for them to jump or fall out.

“A sudden stop, sharp turn, or tempting distraction can quickly turn a fun trip into a tragedy.”

LADbible Group has contacted Price's representatives and PETA for comment.

Now, in her 2024 memoir This is Me: The High Life. The Dark Days. The FULL Story, Price revealed how helpless she felt after she had to put down her kitten Frog at five months old.

She wrote: "He had a neurological disease. There was absolutely nothing I could do. Within days it had spread through his body right to the point that he couldn't even go to the toilet on his own.

"So I cuddled him in my arms and he had to be put to sleep. He was only five months old."
