Kelly Osbourne opens up about 'endless ache' of grief one year after dad Ozzy's death
Kelly Osbourne has shared a heartwrenching statement detailing the ‘endless ache’ of grief she’s felt since her dad Ozzy’s death one year ago.
The legendary rocker passed away on 22 July last year aged 76.
In a statement, his family said: “It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning.
“He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.”

A year on from his passing, youngest daughter Kelly has shared a lengthy post on Instagram to remember and honour her dad and spoke candidly about dealing with grief.
“I don’t just mourn the father I lost. I mourn the soul I was before death taught my heart its own name,” Kelly 41, wrote.
“There is a grief that steals more than the person you love. It quietly takes the light from your laughter, the innocence from your hope and the stranger you become is someone you’ll spend a lifetime trying to recognise.
“People think grief is missing someone who is gone, but the deepest sorrow is waking each day longing for the version of yourself who died with them.”
In the post, titled ‘what I’ve come to know about grief in the last year’, Kelly went on to say that grief ‘cannot be explained, borrowed, or imagined’.
“You only understand its endless ache when you’ve stood in the unbearable silence, carrying a love that has nowhere left to go,” she added.
The TV personality said she ‘missed’ who she was before her dad died and ‘before every memory became both a blessing and a wound’.
“Some losses don’t simply break you,” she continued.
“They divide your life into two people. The one you were before and the one left behind.”
Kelly, who is one of Ozzy’s six children, concluded: “And perhaps that is grief’s cruelest truth.
“Not that death takes the ones we love, but that it leaves us living as ghosts of the people we used to be.”
Kelly’s heartbreaking statement comes as Ozzy’s home city of Birmingham gears up to mark the one year anniversary with Ozzy Day - a free celebration that includes live music, exhibitions, and the chance for fans to bond over shared memories.
Speaking to the BBC, Ozzy’s widow and Kelly’s mum Sharon Osbourne said that fans could honour the late, great rocker by playing music ‘really loud’.
Sharon said that she wanted people to know how ‘funny and charismatic and real’ he was.
Commenting on how fans can pay tribute to her husband on his anniversary, she said: "As Ozzy would say, 'when you want to remember me, just yank up the music really loud, as loud as you can get it, and just head bang'."
Just weeks before his death, Ozzy - who was a founding member of Black Sabbath - put on a farewell concert in Birmingham.
Throughout his lengthy career, Ozzy sold more than 100 million albums and was twice inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
In the early 2000s, he became an unlikely reality TV star after appearing on MTV’s The Osbournes alongside Sharon and kids Kelly and Jack.
