Kim Kardashian's 12-year-old daughter North West debuts controversial new look

North West seems to have become synonymous with 'controversial' looks in recent times as the 12-year-old appears to be on a mission to experiment with her style.

Of course, the pre-teen isn't alone in that children in general look far older than they used to, with my time of wearing khaki shorts and sandals as a youngster clearly over for the current generation.

It's not all that surprising that outlandish clothes and lifestyles are all the rage, given they've grown up in an era of iPhones, Fortnite and 'Baby Shark', while it's also probably fair to say that parents these days are far more accepting than they were 20 years ago.

When it comes to 'nepo babies', North West is pretty close to the top of the Christmas tree, being the eldest daughter of reality star Kim Kardashian and Kanye West.

Despite finalising their divorce back in 2022, the pair continue to co-parent their four kids - North, Saint, 10, Chicago, seven, and Psalm, six.

And with the incredible wealth and opportunities available to North, it seems she is leaving people baffled with some of her outfit choices.

The latest has seen her don blue hair alongside some grillz covering her teeth, as well as her signature long nails.

One social media said: “This is a kid and she lives like an adult.”

A second wrote: “This is embarrassing.”

However, others were quick to come to North's defence, with one fan commenting: “North is like the most coolest 12 year old I ever seen and she can dress better than most adults.”

Someone else penned: “This is so iconic.”

Another added: “She doing the same s*** I would’ve done at 12 if I had that money.”

Kim has previously spoken in defence of her daughter and her bold fashion choices after they were criticised earlier this year, when she showed off her 'face tattoos' and a finger piercing.

During an appearance on Alex Cooper's Call Me Daddy podcast, she said: “It’s really hard and it’s really interesting because all the kids are wearing the same things. But then my daughter tries to wear it, and then I’m like, ‘OK, we’re never wearing that again.’ Unfortunately, we made that mistake in front of the whole world.”

“She does listen to me, but in other areas, I’m like, ‘Babe, if you want blue hair, it is what it is.' You know, it makes her so happy. I would never take that creativity away from her,” Kim said, before adding: “I just think anyone that’s raising kids, especially four kids by myself, I’m doing the best that I can.”

North herself has even hit back at the critics, with a comment her mum called a 'good clapback'.

At the end of the day, people probably shouldn't be all that bothered by how a 12-year-old is dressing, even if most of us wouldn't have dreamt of anything similar when we were that age.
