Liam Neeson's 'strange' experience filming threesome with Pamela Anderson in 40 year-career first

Liam Neeson has opened up about the ‘strange’ experience filming a threesome with Pamela Anderson in their new comedy.

Released in cinemas today (1 August), The Naked Gun also marked a first in the actor’s over 40-year-long career in film.

Neeson made his debut back in 1978 with Pilgrim’s Progress before going on to star in the likes of Schindler’s List, Batman Begins and of course, Taken.

But despite the long list of credits, the new movie is quite the change for the 73-year-old as he embraces the silliness of the spoof comedy, currently sitting at an impressive 90 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.

And it marks the first time Neeson has worked with an intimacy coordinator on set, helping with the ‘little bit strange’ process of the sex scene.

The Naked Gun stars the actor as detective Frank Drebin Jr investigating a plot to assassinate Queen Elizabeth II while Anderson plays Beth Davenport, whose brother has died under suspicious circumstances. The pair become romantically involved, leading to a rather bizarre sex scene.

“There’s an unexpected threesome,” Stephen Colbert said while interviewing Neeson on The Late Show.

“One of the participants is very cold,” the actor said and spoiler, it’s a snowman.

“Cold for such a hot event,” the host added.

“That was a first,” Neeson continued. “That had to be specifically choreographed.”

The star confirmed it was the first time he had worked with an intimacy co-ordinator which he admitted felt ‘a little bit strange’ as he trailed off ‘Pamela and I knew…’.

Well, we can only assume he meant ‘what to do’.

The Naked Gun writers Dan Gregor and Doug Mand described the scene as particularly odd.

"This is a spoiler, but he has a great … very strange love scene that I believe has to be the strangest sex scene of his life,” Gregor told Metro.

And Mand added: “Every day was the strangest thing. Every scene is like, ‘Liam Neeson is doing this?”

While the film might be pretty silly and funny, it’s the stars themselves that seem to be getting the most attention.

As the pair attend the premieres together, rumours have circulated that Anderson and Neeson are dating.

“We met on set,” Neeson said on the Today show. “And we discovered we had a lovely, budding chemistry as two actors. Like ‘Oh, this is nice. Let’s not mould this. Let’s just let it breathe,’ and that’s what we did.”
