Many people would give anything to lock lips with Scarlett Johansson, but one of her co-stars has revealed it wasn’t as great as you might expect.

Having worked with the Marvel actor previously, Matt Damon said that he had to kiss Johansson while shooting We Brought a Zoo, however, the intimate moment was tinged by the actor’s onion breath.

While it might not have been the romantic moment the filmmakers were hoping for, the awkward moment gave Damon plenty of ammunition to tease his co-star during filming.

Speaking about the kiss on LADbible TV’s Agree to Disagree, the 52-year-old said that the embarrassing moment happened while filming the 2011 movie.

The heartwarming film sees Damon play a widowed dad Benjamin Mee who decides to buy a run-down zoo, in the hope of transforming it into a thriving wildlife park.

After hiring head zookeeper Kelly Foster (Johansson) sparks fly between the two wild things. Sadly though, the real-life kiss wasn’t as romantic on set.

“What happened was, we did a shot before lunch, and it was this nice little two-shot that ended in the kiss,” Damon explained.

He added: “And it was really good. And we went to lunch, and she and I both thought it was over, but it wasn't.”

Awkwardly, the on-screen couple had come back from some more close-ups with Johansson suddenly realising she had onion breath.

“'Oh s**t.' She goes ‘I literally just had, I had like an onion sandwich,’” Damon revealed, joking that he teased her despite not even smelling her bad breath.

“Her breath smells like roses!” he added.

Their on screen kiss was far less romantic in real-life.

However, Johansson isn’t the only unromantic one.

Damon went on to admit that he is a terrible snorer, much to the frustration of his long-suffering partner, Luciana Barroso.

He revealed the embarrassing bedtime habit to his co-star Emily Blunt, saying: “I snore and it drives her f**king crazy.”

The Oppenheimer actor added that he also struggles to sleep properly since he was involved in a cycling accident, which left him with a broken collar bone.

“It’s never been quite right. I gotta get a pillow under it... it’s a whole thing,” Damon confessed, adding that he won’t sleep unless he can find a comfortable spot.

We guess Hollywood stars aren’t quite as glamorous, as they’d have you believe.
