Mike Tyson seemed to ‘forget’ he was talking to a kid as he delivered a brutal answer ahead of his upcoming fight.

In the build-up to tonight’s (15 November) big boxing event between the legend and Jake Paul, there have been plenty of viral moments.

With the video of Tyson landing a slap on his opponent at their weigh-in doing the rounds, it’s also this clip of him being interviewed by a 13-year-old reporter.

Appearing on Jazzy’s World TV, he chatted with teen Jazlyn Guerra about his childhood, happiness and of course, his big Netflix live fight with the YouTuber.

But when asked about legacy, Tyson gave a pretty blunt answer.

The teen asked: “What type of legacy would you like to leave behind when it's all said and done?”

And the boxer claimed he doesn’t ‘believe in the word legacy’ and it’s just another word for ‘ego’.

The 58-year-old explained: “That's just some word everybody grabbed onto now. It's used every five seconds. It means absolutely nothing to me. I'm just passing through. Imma die, and it's going to be over. Who cares about legacy after that?”

He went on to say that once we die ‘we’re nothing’.

“We’re dead, we're dust, we're absolutely nothing,” he continued. “Our legacy is nothing.”

Handling the honesty pretty well, the 13-year-old admitted she had ‘not heard’ an answer like that before.

And then Tyson really went to town.

“Can you really imagine somebody saying, ‘I want my legacy to be this way when I get that?’” the boxer asked.

“You think somebody really wants to think about you? I want people to think about me when I'm gone - who the f**k cares about me when I'm gone?”

It’s fair to say people were pretty taken aback by both his language and brutal answer in general, as they wrote on X: “Mike Tyson definitely forgot he was talking to a kid while answering that question.”

Some said while he has ‘a point’, it was ‘a bit too negative’ and one joked the teen is ‘about to go through an existential crisis at 13 years old’.

While another said: “That was golden. Her response was perfect too. Two completely different worlds met. A grizzly old stone cold killer right before a fight vs a zesty young girl excited about life and all the opportunities that lay ahead of her.”

How to watch Paul vs. Tyson if you don’t have Netflix

If you don’t already have Netflix, there is a workaround to essentially get it for free as part of a package deal. At the moment Sky is currently offering Netflix, Sky Stream, with Sky TV and Sky Full Fibre 300 Broadband, all for just £36 as part of its Black Friday deal. And given that its Full Fibre 300 broadband is usually £29 a month, for just £10 more you’ll also get access to Sky TV and Netflix for not much more.
