Comedian Natasha Leggero praised after taking her top off during set for important reason

The comedian felt like she needed to get something off her chest during her set at the Skyler Stone’s Comedy Rocks event in Los Angeles.

The aim of the game for comedians is to have the room roaring with laughter - but sometimes, making a stand is more important than giving the crowd a chuckle.

It's an added bonus if the audience end up deciding to get behind your stunt though, just like what happened at Natasha Leggero's set at the Skyler Stone’s Comedy Rocks event in Los Angeles, US, last Wednesday (17 January).

The comedian, 49, stripped off after joining the stage in the hopes of making an important point to the crowd at the popular comedy club, Hollywood Improv, where the likes of David Spade and Tiffany Haddish were also performing.

Ahead of her set, shirt-hating stand-up star Bert Kreischer had warmed up the crowd and obviously pulled his trademark move while cracking some jokes - ripping off his top.

The bare-chested bloke says he always ends up peeling his clothes off because 'fat guys take their shirts off all the time at home', adding that he sees it as a way to 'remind myself that I’m supposed to be having a good time'.

The funnyman manage to impress the audience with his set, but footage from the show seems to suggest that former Chelsea Lately star Leggero felt that she needed to get something off her chest about his gig.

In the clip obtained by TMZ, Kreischer can be seen naked from the waist up while introducing the next act on stage, describing her as one of the 'funniest comedians in the world'.

He added: "I'm jealous of her husband because he gets to live with her, because she is that f**king hilarious."

Leggero then strutted on stage to Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg's hit track 'Still D.R.E', and managed to completely steal the show in a matter of seconds.

Wearing a faux fur coat, a white t-shirt and a pair of blue dungarees, the TV star began removing her multiple layers and tossed her jacket to a bloke in the front row.

She then decided to go the whole hog and removed her white top - and let's just say, she gave the audience quite an eyeful.

Although you might be wondering what on Earth inspired her to do this, Leggero did have good reason.

The mum - who had her first child with fellow comedian Moshe Kasher in 2018 - said to the crowd: "If the boys can do it, why can’t the girls?"

And who can argue with that?

Kreischer was one of the people among the sea of stunned comedy fans and he was heard shouting: "Holy s**t! Oh my god. The f**king best. I'm going to have to take my pants off now!"

Cool as a cucumber, Leggero then grabbed her fluffy jacket and slung it over her shoulders before smoothly kicking off her set with a wisecrack about motherhood.

Many people at home also supported the stunt, with one writing: "Now that is comedy... totally threw off Bert and the audience."

Another called it 'freaking epic'.

Natasha made the bold move of undressing in a bid to address the double standards between men and women, as Kreischer had performed his set shirtless without anyone batting an eyelid.

The Free The Nipple advocate has definitely proved her point - seen as though her semi-nude stunt has gone on to make global news. Iconic!
