Mum of Nickelodeon star seen on streets shared heartbreaking reality of his current condition

She shared a warning to the public

The mother of the Nickelodeon star spotted on the streets of Los Angeles has issued a heartbreaking update on his situation.

Tylor Chase, who is perhaps most well known for his role as Martin Qwerly on Ned's Declassified Survival Guide, has attracted huge concern from across the world after a viral TikTok recorded him in a worrying state in California.

The 36-year-old appeared in several other films and TV shows, including Everybody Hates Chris, but seemingly moved away from the world of acting back in 2011, with his only public appearances coming in the form of a YouTube channel and some poetry performances discussing his mental health.

Although he might be unknown to some of the younger Gen Z readers among you, anyone growing up in the early 2000s will recognise him from at least one show, so there's been a huge outpouring of support for him after the video captured him in an alarming state.

The viral TikTok was captioned: "This is so sad I ran into the guy who used to play on Nickelodeon I remember watching him as a kid. If anyone wants to donate, there is a GoFundMe online."

Riverside Police Department Public Information Officer Ryan Railsback said to Daily Mail: "We do not know how long he has been experiencing homelessness.

"During all of our interactions, he has been cordial and cooperative with our officers."

However, his mother has previously spoken out to dissuade the public from donating to the GoFundMe page.

"Money would not benefit him," she said in messages shared by another TikTok creator back in September. "I have gotten him several phones, but he loses them within a day or two. He cannot manage money or his meds by himself."

The TikToker also confirmed his mum does try to house him 'but he chooses drugs', while his mental health struggles also mean that he needs medical help rather than financial help.

She added: "He's not good at managing money and it could possibly hurt him. I appreciate you trying to help him. He is a good, sweet kid. But he does need medical help."

Now, Chase himself has spoken to the Daily Mail to share a further update on his situation, in which he claims he isn't homeless and has options available to him.

"It's not really like that, I have friends and family. I stay around here locally. My mom is here," he said. "I have a lot of good people helping me.

"It's not too shabby. A lot of people help out. It goes a long way.'I have family and friends, and the housing shelter assistance program.

"There's graceful charity from the grace of God's family people. That's a pretty chill aspect of it all. It's a true privilege, obviously."

Chase also suggested that he was considering moving back to Georgia, where he would try to get into 'a housing assistance program.

''I'm not really active homeless at this time, I'm thinking that I would like to go see my dad, relatively shortly, in the state of Georgia,' he said.

"I have the whole setup to stay out there, a room out there hopefully... Probably a housing assistance program in Georgia most likely."

Sadly, Chase isn't the only Nickelodeon child actor to face hardship in their later life, with Amanda Bynes and Drake Bell, two of the biggest stars on the TV channel, open about their mental health struggles and substance abuse in recent years.

If you've been affected by any of these issues and want to speak to someone in confidence, contact Shelter via their webchat service or on 0808 800 4444. The line is open 8am-6pm Monday to Friday, excluding Bank Holidays.

Additionally, if you want friendly, confidential advice about drugs, you can talk to FRANK. You can call 0300 123 6600, text 82111 or contact through their website 24/7, or livechat from 2pm-6pm any day of the week
