A former co-star of Ryan Reynolds' has revealed that it wasn't entirely easy to work with him.

You may know him best as Deadpool or as the owner of Wrexham FC, but the fact of the matter is Ryan Reynolds is one of the most successful movie stars of his generation.

But that doesn't mean that the 48-year-old hasn't had his fair share of obstacles and failures to get to where he is - take the Green Lantern, for example, or the recent legal drama involving his wife Blake Lively and her It Ends With Us co-star Justin Baldoni.

Early on in his career though, the Canadian actor was trying to establish himself in the film industry after landing a role on sitcom,Two Guys and a Girl.

He eventually found success with 2002's Van Wilder, where he played the titular character, but there were a number of lesser-known and less successful films beforehand.

One of these was called Boltneck, and it starred Reynolds along with Justin Walker and Matthew Lawrence, who found fame through Boy Meets World.

While the film 'failed', by Lawrence's words, he explained that the charming man behind Deadpool wasn't that easy to work with back in the day.

Speaking as one of the hosts on The Brotherly Love Pod, along with brothers Joey and Andy, the trio discussed the Baldoni-Lively lawsuit along with other related subjects, such as Reynolds' behaviour on set of Boltneck, in an episode uploaded on 21 February.

Matt explained in the episode, which was uploaded to YouTube: "The production team was having a really hard time with Ryan - this is Young Ryan," adding that they told him to stop doing a Jim Carrey impression on camera that he persisted at.

The 45-year-old went on: "[He] just wanted to do his thing and the producers were getting really upset..."

"He got upset at that [the criticism] and he was like 'I'm doing my thing' - they blamed that movie not working on on him because they said there was this whole conflict," the former child star admitted.

Despite all of the drama though, he admitted that he holds nothing against Reynolds after all these years.

The Boltneck co-star admitted: "I'm not even mad at Ryan in the sense that he actually stayed true to who he truly is authentically, because honestly, he was trying to 'Deadpool' it,

"That's what he was trying to do to the script on set that is where my experience with Ryan Reynolds went, he's obviously matured as a human being," highlighting that it was 'his thing', and that Reynolds has always been held up this persona, even in 2002.
