Ed Sheeran admits he lost the 'ability to see' after smoking blunt with Snoop Dogg

Snoop Dogg was likely unaffected

Now I'm never one to encourage drug use, but if Snoop Dogg offers you some weed then you're probably unlikely to turn him down.

Ed Sheeran may well be sober from drugs and alcohol now, but he's certainly had plenty of fun in the past, if his latest story with Snoop Dogg is anything to go by.

The 'Azizam' singer has previously shared the moment that he decided to quit the booze for good, while he also binned the cigarettes, so it seems clear that he's committed to a healthier way of living.

However, before the UK star became a father, he likely enjoyed the life of a world-famous musician, including a smoking session with the legendary rapper, who can perhaps only be out-smoked by a few other celebrities, naming the likes of Bob Marley and Willie Nelson on his Mount Rushmore of pot smokers.

Ed recently took to TikTok to share a video of him and Snoop, as they both enjoyed delicacies of different legality (crisps for Ed and weed for Snoop).

He wrote: "Last time I smoked with Snoop I lost the ability to see," Sheeran captioned the clip, to which Snoop replied in the comments: "Whatup Ed!!"

While it's fairly common for your eyes to turn red after smoking weed, along with some questionable judgements and cravings, it's rare for someone to smoke so much that they go temporarily blind.

But that was the case for the Ipswich entertainer, who has previously shared more details about the incident, which also involved Russell Crowe.

Speaking on the podcast Conan O'Brien Needs a Friend in October 2023, Ed said: "I was in the dressing room, and they’re just [smoking] blunt for blunt for blunt for blunt, and I’m like, I guess at some point during the night I have to, just to be like, ‘I smoked with Snoop Dogg.'

"So I have a bit, and I was like, ‘I don’t feel too bad. This is good.’ Then I have a bit more, and then I have a bit more, and then I have a bit more. I just remember looking at him and being like, 'I can’t see right now.'"

Snoop has probably built up a bit of a resistance to the drug after so long smoking it, so for Ed to have one of his first experiences alongside the rapper is much like making your professional debut in the World Cup Final.

Fortunately, for everyone involved, Ed's sight came back not long after, although it's easy to see (no pun intended) why he's stayed away from it in recent years after that scary experience.
