Snoop Dogg has proven once and for all that he definitely hasn't abandoned weed.

The rapper left fans around the world shocked when he announced out of nowhere that he was 'giving up the smoke'.

In a post on social media, The Doggfather said: "After much consideration & conversation with my family, I’ve decided to give up smoke. Please respect my privacy at this time."

Many thought it was a joke because it was hard to imagine Snoop giving up one of the biggest things about him.

Others were worried whether he would be affected by withdrawals considering how much he smokes every day.

There were also a few people who sent their condolences to the rapper's professional blunt roller who would be out of a job.

It didn't take long for Snoop to come clean about what 'giving up the smoke' actually means.

In a post to his social media accounts, he said: "I have an announcement. I'm giving up smoke.

"I know what you're thinking, 'Snoop? Smoke is kinda your whole thing?'

"But I'm done with it. I'm done with [...] my clothes smelling all sticky icky. I'm going smokeless.

"Solo Stove fixed fire, they take out the smoke, clever."

He really fooled everyone.

But he's now proved to everyone that he definitely isn't giving up his favourite hobby as he's posted a picture of him with a blunt to his Instagram.

His fans will be no doubt thrilled to see him back doing what he loves.

However, many weren't happy when they realised he had tricked them over the smoke thing.

One person said: "Bro had the worlds stoners questioning their life choices for this ad."

Another commented: "Of course it was all an ad."

"All this for some promo smh," put a third.

While someone else lamented: "Everything is marketing."
