Viewers in stitches as Jon Hamm makes huge mistake in bizarre Super Bowl moment

Super Bowl LIX has arrived and viewers have been left bemused after the first 'battle' was won by Bradley Cooper over his fellow actor Jon Hamm.

The two seasoned heavyweights of Hollywood took to the microphone on the Caesars Superdome pitch in New Orleans to welcome their respective teams out from the locker rooms.

Hamm, a Kansas City Chiefs fan, hyped the 75,000-strong crowd as he welcomed the two-time defending Super Bowl champions who are on the quest for a historic 'three-peat'.

On the flip side, Cooper was there to welcome his Philadelphia Eagles to the pitch.

And given how the two actors did in the promo of their respective teams, fans think the first battle between the two teams was easily won by The Hangover star.

Mad Men's Hamm said: "Make some noise for your two-time defending Super Bowl champions."

The problem for the 53-year-old was that his voice squeaked pretty noticeably during the saying of 'super' - with the crowd booing the entrance quite noticeably.

In comparison, Cooper looked a little more composed and fans said he easily got the crowd more hyped for the Eagles - probably giving us more of an indication of how many fans for each team are in the stadium.

"The first battle of the day. Bradley Cooper vs Jon Hamm," one fan said over on X (formerly Twitter).

"Eagles 1, Chiefs 0."

A second wrote: "Bradley Cooper > Jon Hamm by a billion light years."

And a third added: "Jon Hamm Squeaked so Bradley Cooper could Squawk."

Another viewer took a different slant, writing 'Jon Hamm and Bradley Cooper seeing each other at the next red carpet' while sharing a gif of The Rock and Hulk Hogan staring each other down during their WWE days.

And someone else joked: "The Chiefs and Eagles should be required to put in Jon Hamm and Bradley Cooper for one snap just to see what happens."

The Chiefs were the slight favourites going into the big match, with the Eagles looking for revenge from when they lost in the 2023 Super Bowl to the very same team.

There are also rumours this could well be Chiefs superstar Travis Kelce's final ever game in the NFL, with the veteran looking at opportunities outside of his playing game.

His brother, Jason Kelce, played for the Eagles and against Travis in the 2023 Super Bowl. Both of them are regarded as the finest of their generation in their respective positions.
