Sydney Sweeney's family might be in full support of her career, but that didn't stop her dad and grandfather leaving the room during one of her X-rated scenes.
The Anyone But You star, 27, is the daughter of former lawyer Lisa Sweeney and hospitality worker Steven Sweeney, and she credits her parents with helping her succeed in Hollywood.
The former couple didn't have any showbiz connections, so adjusting to their daughter's newfound fame was a learning curve for the entire family.
During an interview with GQ in 2022, Sydney said: "When I go home, my family doesn't understand me or the world I'm in anymore. But then in this industry, my home and the place that grounds me is so vastly different to how people live there.

"I'm in this in-between place where I feel like neither side understands me."
The White Lotus actress explained that when she got her big break while starring as Cassie Howard in HBO's hit series Euphoria, she took her mum Lisa to the set to give her a feel of what a career in Hollywood looks like.
Her dad Steven, on the other hand, didn't exactly get a heads up about what the gritty teen drama is about.
Anyone who's watched Euphoria will be well aware of the intensity of the hard-hitting storylines, which delve into sex, drug addiction, revenge porn, mental illness, dating and violence.

It's not exactly something that a lot of people would stick on while sat on the sofa with their ma and pa, let's put it that way.
In particular, the complicated character that Sydney played took viewers on quite the emotional rollercoaster as she navigated the trials and tribulations of being a teenager.
During an interview with Sunday Today in 2023, Sydney discussed her family's reaction to some of her risqué scenes in the show, saying: "My mom visited me on set quite a few times, so she knew the story."
"My dad didn’t," she laughed. "I didn't prepare my dad at all...I mean, how do you bring it up in conversation? And when I talk to my dad, it's usually not about work. It's just, 'Hey dad'."

Explaining they instead have typical 'father-daughter conversations' instead of chewing the fat about what it's like to be a world-famous actress, Sydney continued: "So, he decided he was going to watch it without telling me, with his parents. My dad and my grandpa turned it off and walked out.
"But my grandma, she's a big supporter of mine. I bring her all over the world to my different sets and I make her an extra."

Despite her dad and grandad's awkward response to her role in Euphoria, Sydney previously said her loved ones are extremely proud of her hard work.
Discussing her dad in a 2023 with Variety, she said: "He lives on a ranch in Mexico, and doesn’t have internet or cell service.

"I know he’s proud of me, and I know he’s like, ‘Wow, this is a crazy world!'"
