Your social media feeds might be featuring a lot more basketball than you’d usually see this morning (11 June) but it’s not necessarily because of the actual sport.
Last night’s Knicks-Spurs NBA Finals Game 4 saw dozens of celebrities flocking to Madison Square Garden in New York.
From the likes of die-hards Spike Lee and Timothée Chalamet with girlfriend Kylie Jenner to Michael J. Fox and Adam Sandler.
And swapping out the NFL for NBA, Taylor Swift was also in attendance with Alana and Este Haim while she sat next to Law and Order SVU icon Mariska Hargitay.

But while a number of these stars are known to be dedicated Knicks fans, there were some questions about the ‘Cruel Summer’ singer being there.
One of those confused by this was Knicks radio analyst Monica McNutt who made an ‘unfortunate’ comment.

While it’s not clear if they knew they were on air or not, the Knicks radio team seemed to be discussing the stars in the audience as she asked co-host Tyler Murray: “Is that Taylor Swift down there?”
He seemed a little excited by this as he struggled to make her out among the crowd.
“Ain’t that her in the blue?” McNutt continued. “Yeah literally like, that’s her.”
She then started to poke fun at Murray as he smirked and got his phone out to zoom in on the camera: “Wow look at Tyler go.”

He assured it was for his wife as he recorded Swift in the crowd.
But then McNutt can be heard making the passing comment: “She’s not a Knicks fan. Get out of here girl.”
While some users slammed the radio analyst for her comments, others hit out at the large number of celebrities at the game who supposedly ‘really don’t care about the game’

And others pointed out: “I’m not even a ‘Swiftie’ and I knew that,” as comment sections are filled with old images of the ‘Love Story’ singer at Knicks games.
Swift has lived in New York since 2014 and while her fiancé Travis Kelce is a serious Cleveland Cavaliers fan, she’s apparently long been a Knicks lover.
A source told Page Six ahead of last night’s game: “She’s a huge fan of the Knicks and really wants to be there to support them. She is going with friends.”
One user noted on X: “I’m not a fan of hers but it seems like she is genuinely a long time Knicks fan. Like she wouldn’t even wear Cleveland stuff for her BF.”
The LADbible Group has contacted representatives for McNutt for comment.
