Friends fans were left feeling emotional after a woman revealed the sweet note someone left on Matthew Perry’s grave.

The beloved actor - who was best known for playing Chandler Bing in Friends - sadly passed away in October last year, aged just 54.

Confirming the news at the time, NBC (the network which aired Friends) said in a statement: "We are incredibly saddened by the too soon passing of Matthew Perry.

"He brought so much joy to hundreds of millions of people around the world with his pitch-perfect comedic timing and wry wit. His legacy will live on through countless generations."

While his family said: "We are heartbroken by the tragic loss of our beloved son and brother. Matthew brought so much joy to the world, both as an actor and a friend.

"You all meant so much to him and we appreciate the tremendous outpouring of love."

His sudden death prompted an outpouring of grief from friends, fans and those within the industry.

In a joint statement, his Friends co-stars Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt Leblanc and David Schwimmer said: "We are all so utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew. We were more than just cast mates.

"We are a family.

"There is so much to say, but right now we’re going to take a moment to grieve and process this unfathomable loss.

"In time we will say more, as and when we are able.

"For now, our thoughts and our love are with Matty’s family, his friends, and everyone who loved him around the world."

Perry’s funeral took place in early November, and numerous fans have since visited his grave to pay their respects.

TikTok user Katie Timmins visited the spot where she revealed one fan had left a hand-written message that read: “The one where we all lost a friend.”

Sharing the note, Timmins said: “I’ll be honest, as soon as I read this note, it did bring tears to my eyes. I watched Friends every single morning before school, so seeing this is a little bit surreal for me.

“You can see fans have been and left friendship bracelets with the Friends theme song on.”

Responding to the clip, one follower said: "And I’m crying again, goodbye Chandler Bing."

A second wrote: "Matthew Perry's death hit me so hard… he was so young."

While someone else said: "Never watched Friends but soon as I seen them bracelets. It done me."

Someone else wrote: "The one where we all lost a friend," alongside a crying emoji to which Timmin replied: “Instant tears.”
