X Factor star Ray Quinn has said that he and his wife Emily welcomed a baby son who was 'born asleep' in a heartbreaking announcement.
Quinn, who is known for his appearance on X Factor and Dancing on Ice, shared the news on social media on Sunday night.
The joint post with Emily read: "Rio Quinn. Our beautiful boy, born sleeping... 20th August 2026. No words will ever be enough, just a lot of indescribable feelings. Heaven gained the most beautiful little Angel and we were overjoyed when Rio was born and we found out we had a little boy!!
"The last few weeks have been a lot but our saving grace has been each other. We just want to say a special thanks to Becky, Rebecca, Ali, Marie, Sarah & Lorraine @liverpoolwomens and to the HoneySuckle team you go above and beyond, and although it was the most heartbreaking week of our lives you created some of the most beautiful moments and we have such special memories with our boy to keep forever. Thank you!"

The post added: "When it's you that goes through such heartbreaking times like this, you soon find out just how much help and support there is out there. It's a whole lot more than you’d ever expect. And it’s truly amazing!"
In the post, the couple went on to say how they had addressed the news more in an episode of THE QUINNS on YouTube, saying that the episode was 'hard to film' and that making it in the first was 'not a decision we took lightly'.
Nonetheless, they said they decided to make the episode hoping that 'by us opening up and talking about this, we hope it helps those out there who find themselves in a similar situation to us'.
The message concluded: "Forever our Angel 'RIO QUINN.'"
Many people piled into the comments to share their thoughts and sympathies with the couple.

Singer Sam Bailey replied: "Oh, Ray, I'm so sorry, my darling. No one should ever have to go through this. Be strong, babe!!!! Sending love to you all at this difficult time."
Yvie Burnett, who was a vocal coach on the X Factor, said: "Oh my goodness. So so sorry and sending so much love to you both."
Actor Lucy-Jo Hudson wrote: "Ah Ray, Emily, I am heartbroken for you both and your family. Thinking of you at this sad sad time."
Ray and Emily married back in 2023, and one year before their wedding, described by Emily as a 'magical fairytale', they welcomed their daughter Summer Reign together.
Quinn appeared on The X Factor, finishing second on the show to winner Leona Lewis, and going on to win Dancing on Ice in 2009, as well as the All Stars version of the show in 2014.
