Actor Yvonne Orji admits she’s a virgin at 39

Yvonne Orji told Chelsea Handler that she is still a virgin at the age of 39

Yvonne Orji has revealed that she is still a virgin at 39 years of age.

Of course, it’s nobody’s business why, or even knowing that in the first place, but she did reveal that truth on a large podcast, so naturally people are reporting on it.

Orji, who is probably best known for starring in the TV series Insecure, for which she was nominated for a number of awards, was speaking to Chelsea Handler on her podcast Dear Chelsea when she opened up on her sex life.

Handler was the one who started it, asking Orji: "Are you still a virgin?"

“I am,” Orji responded.

"Oh my God I love this," said Handler.

“This is the most original guest we've ever had on, and what are you, 39?

“Oh my God. That dam is going to break one day, baby."

Orji has actually spoken before about how she wanted to remain a virgin until she was married, and has joked in the past about how she’s actually a bit worried for the man that she does eventually end up getting with.

She said: "People were like, 'Oh Yvonne.'

“Pray for him, whoever he is,

"There's a lot of pent-up energy up in here with me."

Handler then went on to say that Yvonne will reach her ‘sexual peak’ after she first loses her virginity, and therefore might ‘need a couple of men, probably’.

To that comment, Orji laughed: "Yvonne went from being a virgin to polyamory."

However much she might joke about it, this is clearly a serious decision for Orji.

Speaking to People back in 2017, she said: "Before any of [the fame] happened, I sat down with myself and with God and thought, when I make it, how do you want me to represent you while I’m here?

“It was like, OK, I know why I’m here. It’s to make you proud."

Orji added: “People ask about it because they’re curious, or they may not understand.

"How will they ever understand if I don’t talk about it?

“I can inform your curiosity, as opposed to everyone being in the dark and just sort of creating their own narrative about it.”

For the most part, she likes to keep her private life to herself, but in the past Orji had been in a relationship with ex-NFL footballer Emmanuel Acho, but the pair split up after a short relationship between 2018 and 2019.
