With the return of ITV’s Virgin Island many fans of the show will be revisiting the participants from season one to see where they are at now – and one of the participants has still had no luck with losing his virginity.
Of the Virgin Island season one participants a few have said that the show worked and they were able to lose their virginity, with one even announcing that she was now pregnant.
One participant for whom the TV show had a less immediate impact on their dating life was Ben Harris, who announced last year that he was still a virgin at 31 and had actually lost his job working for former MP Michael Fabricant after he lost his seat.
This led to some viral tweets about his situation and a year on he is still a virgin, but now has a job again.

Speaking exclusively to LADbible, Ben explained that he had still not had sex and had even been broken up with as a result of the show airing.
Now 32, he said: “There was one woman I dated when the show was just airing and I had to tell them because it was literally airing and people recognized me in the street.
“She didn't want to see me again after a second date and she did say that was partly a reason.
“I don't know it wasn't the only reason so but um yeah I think I’ve sort of learned to be a bit more cautious.”
He stated that the two have stayed friends and she was worried about people ‘seeing the two of them together’, adding: “I totally get why she wouldn't want that sort of visibility.”

In the end however Ben stated the show had not massively changed his relationships because that was never the aim.
The at-the-time 31-year-old went on the show because he had struggled to have sex when the opportunity arose with a girlfriend he was dating before the show.
Ultimately though, not much has changed for Ben in his dating life, as he said: “I wouldn't say it's really it hasn't really affected it either way to be honest with you I wouldn't say I’m getting more dates or less dates just about the same so the same issue.”
When asked whether he was still a virgin, Ben said: “Yeah I am. The point of the show for me was essentially because I got to this point with my most recent ex-girlfriend where we got to that point and I couldn't do it and I didn't feel confident enough to do it.

“The unfortunate thing, I suppose, is that I won't really know whether the show’s truly helped and worked until I get that far again.
“And you have to get quite far for that. So, my suspicion is I think it has helped. I think I probably won't have an issue in future, but yeah, it's just a case of just waiting to see.”
Ben does now have a job however working in Parliament and added a request at the end of the interview: “The only thing I would [add] is you know I am still single. You know, the online dating world is terrible. So, if anyone reading this wants to reach out, then feel free to do that.”
