Along with the image, he wrote the caption: "Happy and healthy - thanks for the well wishes."

LADbible has contacted Zac Efron's representative for further comment.

This isn't the first time Efron has been involved in a high-profile accident after he once shattered his jaw while running in the house in 2013.

After waking up, Efron said he realised his 'chin bone was hanging off his face'.

"The masseters just grew. They just got really, really big," he said.

Meanwhile, Efron's last appearance on-screen was alongside Nicole Kidman and Joey King in A Family Affair.

The film follows assistant Zara, played by King, who unexpectedly falls for a her boss, and actor Chris Cole (Efron).

As their romance blooms, secrets unravel, revealing his deep ties to her family's past.

While Chris struggles with being a celebrity, whereas Efron reckons he deals with it a bit better.

“I think all of Chris’s fears and insecurities are based on something that I’ve probably felt at one point or another, but I think I’ve acted on them a little bit differently,” he said.

“So it was very fun to bring all those things up to the surface and handle them horribly, and explore what that was like.

“I think they’re real, honest emotions, what he’s experiencing, he just doesn’t know how to process them well, and he doesn’t have, really, too many people around him he can trust other than Zara, so I think she takes the brunt of the things he’s going through.

“He’s handling it the best he can, bless his heart.”
