Charlie Cox has gushed about the diehard fans who he believes helped resurrect his Marvel character Daredevil.

Hearts were broken around the world in 2018 when one beloved Marvel series after another started being removed from Netflix.

Daredevil was taken off the streaming service, along with Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, The Punisher and others.

That moment kicked off an unbelievable social media campaign to have these characters reinserted to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in some way, shape or form.

Fans finally got their wish when they saw Matt Murdock in 2021's Spider-Man: No Way Home as the webslinger's lawyer.

They were then thrilled to see him appear in the She-Hulk TV series.

Cox's character will be seen next in Daredevil: Born Again, which will be an 18-episode limited series.

Not a bad arc for a character that many thought was going to be cast aside forever.

Charlie says this Daredevil revival has been helped by the fans who posted a seemingly incalculable number of social media posts begging for him to return to the big or small screen.

“Whatever happens to my career going forward from this point on, I owe most of it to the ‘Save Daredevil’ campaign,” Cox explained to Marvel.com.

“That even when I had lost hope years ago, they did not, and they continued to campaign and support.

"And over the years, I’ve met many of them, and they’re such an enthusiastic, passionate crowd.”

He said it was such an incredible moment when Marvel President Kevin Feige called him up to ask if he wanted to put on the Daredevil suit once again.

"From my point of view, it was just suddenly, that was what the next year of my life was going to look like which was incredibly exciting and overwhelming, emotionally overwhelming, as you can imagine, having not heard from— not spoken to anyone or heard from anyone about the character for over two years," he said.

Cox added: "To be invited back and starting again, almost, it feels like a little bit like a dream.

"It feels too good to be true. I'm so excited about the future. I can't wait to get on the set from the first day of the new show.

"I'm already starting to train. As you know, I'm already starting to make plans in terms of living and training and having conversations with the writers and all of those things.

"So it's starting to feel very real."

Well, we're sure there will be plenty of fans who will appreciate the shoutout.
