Creepy horror film with one main actor and no dialogue is becoming a cult classic

The film recently came to Disney+ and stars one of the new faces joining HBO's The Last Of Us Season 2

A chilling Disney+ horror film one viewer dubbed the 'best suspense movie of 2023' is quickly becoming a cult classic.

The film - which only includes five words of dialogue during its 93 runtime - mostly follows just one character as she fights for her life against terrifying intruders in her home.

Reviewers love the movie, which has a healthy 82 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Film critic Robert Levin, from Newsday, describes the film as 'about as high quality of a genre picture as you could hope to find'.

John Nugent, from Empire Magazine, calls it a 'smart and splendidly scary horror sci-fi'.

Regular audience members loved the Disney+ flick too, with one describing it as 'a relentless thriller that barely gives you a moment to catch your breath'.

Another called it 'subtle, poignant, and completely heart-racing'.

Its lead actor, Kaitlyn Dever, was this week cast in season two of HBO's critically acclaimed The Last Of Us, where she'll star as Abby alongside Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey who continue in their roles as Joel and Ellie. So expect more from here in the coming years.

Viewers think she absolutely knocked it out of the park in No One Will Save You, and you can watch the pulse-raising trailer below:

The gist of it? Think home invasion, alien style.

Brynn lives alone in her childhood home on the outskirts of a classic, rural American town. She lives a solitary life following tragedy during her younger years.

All hell quickly breaks loose when the little green men (spoiler: they're not green) come to town and cause a ruckus.

OK, sure, I think I'd have something to say if a gang of creatures from outer space tried to take over my house and town in the dead of night.

But the lack of words adds to the growing suspense throughout the first hour of the movie.

There's also a very personal backstory central to Dever's character, something that easily shines through despite a lack of dialogue.

Given there's only one central cast member, it's a good job the upcoming The Last Of Us star is pretty good at what she does.

The boldness around the stripped back cast and lack of dialogue sends this film immediately into cult classic territory, and is one that we're sure will be mentioned time and time again for people wanting something a little different to a run-of-the-mill thriller or horror showpiece.

And it should come as no surprise when you look who is behind the camera, with director Brian Duffield taking the reins.

Duffield's other writing credits include Cocaine Bear, The Babysitter and The Babysitter: Killer Queen. So you could say he has an eye for bring the obscure into the mainstream.
