Ellen Degeneres has confirmed she is quitting Hollywood, and says we 'won't see her again'.

The comedian and long-time talk show host has confirmed that she will be quitting Hollywood once she plays the final leg of her current comedy tour.

DeGeneres is in the midst of the Ellen’s Last Stand…. Up Tour, a stand up tour which will be filmed and released as a Netflix special.

In a Q&A following one of her shows she was asked whether she would be returning to making movies after her stand up tour.

She said: “Um, no. This is the last time you’re going to see me. After my Netflix special, I’m done.”

When asked if she would be returning to her role as Dory from Pixar's Finding Nemo and Finding Dory she said: “No, I’m going bye-bye, remember.”

DeGeneres hosted The Ellen DeGeneres Show for almost 20 years, with it at one time being one of the most popular shows in the US.

The stand up comic has been using the tour to address misconduct allegations against her from the set of the show.

The talk show ended due to these allegations, which ranged from racism to sexual misconduct to intimidation.

DeGeneres ended up giving an on air apology, where she said: "I take this very seriously and I want to say I'm so sorry to the people it affected.

"I learned that things happened that should never have happened.

"If I've ever let someone down, if I've ever hurt their feelings, I am sorry for that."

Following an internal investigation into the allegations, three executives at Warner Media ended up being fired for their part in the controversy.

At the show DeGeneres said: “Let me catch you up on what’s been going on with me since you last saw me.

“I got chickens. Oh yeah, and I got kicked out of show business for being mean.”

"I am a strong woman. I am many things, but I am not mean.”

In a previous show, DeGeneres said it was 'hurtful' how her show ended.

She said: "I just thought, ‘Well this is not the way I wanted to end my career, but this is the way it’s ending.’ … I just hated the way the show ended.

“I love that show so much and I just hated that the last time people would see me is that way.”

DeGeneres's tour will continue until August 17, at which point we will - supposedly - never see her again.
