Vin Diesel says Fast & Furious finale will be a three-parter

Vin Diesel has teased the final Fast & Furious film will be a trilogy.

As fans buckle up for the tenth instalment (yes, really), the actor revealed that Universal studio execs were considering making Fast X a three-part movie.

While it might not be the end of the road for the franchise, the upcoming film will still have a special tribute to one of its cast members.

Nearly a decade on from the tragic passing of Paul Walker, his daughter Meadow will now have a cameo in Fast X.

The model-turned-actress was just 15 years old when her father was killed in a car accident, while travelling in a 2005 Porsche Carerra GT through Santa Clarita.

Having grown up on the various Fast & Furious sets, Meadow was eager to join the all-star cast as she paid tribute to her late dad.

Sharing a behind-the-scene still on Instagram, she thanked everyone involved in the production in the caption, writing: “The first Fast was released when I was one year old! I grew up watching my father Vin, Jordana, Michelle, Chris and more on the monitors. Thanks to my dad, I was born into a fast family.”

Meadow added: “I am so blessed to be able to honor my father's legacy and share this with him forever."

Appearing at the Fast X world premiere in Rome yesterday (12 May), lead actor Vin Diesel did little to put the brakes on any speculation about a trilogy and teased that studio execs were considering even more sequels.

"Without tipping the hat too much, I can say this: Going into making this movie, the studio had asked if this could be a two-parter," he said, adding: "And after the studio saw this Part 1, they said, 'Could you make Fast X, the finale, a trilogy?'"

Although he would not confirm anything, co-star Michelle Rodriguez did add that the tenth instalment was ‘three acts in a story’, to which Diesel responded: "You're going to get me in trouble here."

Before you get too reeved up, Universal have yet to confirm the actors’ statement.

However, the Guardians of the Galaxy actor did previously state that Fast X would be split into two films while appearing at CinemaCon last month.

The studio later confirmed this, with the second part due to hit cinemas in 2025.

With all this, it seems that two more Fast and Furious films are very likely down the road.

LADbible has contacted Universal Pictures for comment.
