Exciting New Details From New 'Luther' Have Been Leaked As Ruth Wilson Appears On Set
If you're a Luther fan and don't want any spoilers ahead of the new series, then probably best to click away now.
Right, now those guys have gone. Let me tell you, that series five of the detective show will reunite DCI John Luther with Alice Morgan. Alice, played by Ruth Wilson, wasn't around in series four and viewers were led to believe that she'd been bumped off off-screen by Megan.
However, these recent photos taken during filming show Ruth opposite Luther actor Idris Elba during filming - whether this means she's 'come back from the dead' or it's a flashback scene, we'll have to wait and see.
Speaking to the BBC back when the fifth series was announced, writer Neil Cross may have dropped a little hint that Alice would be back, when he mentioned missing 'old friends'.
"We missed John Luther," he said. "We missed some old friends. And we wanted to make the biggest, scariest, darkest, most thrilling series of Luther there's ever been. So that's what we've come back to do."
Wilson was off filming The Affair in 2014, when shooting began for the fourth series, but when she spoke to the Press Association last year she said she'd definitely be keen to reprise Alice.
"I would love to return to Alice," she said, "But I don't know if that will happen. There is an enthusiasm for it."
Idris has also spoken about being happy to be filming again, saying: "It's good to be back in London, back in the coat."

We've got few details about the upcoming series of Luther, however, a synopsis from the BBC reads: "When the moonless shadows of London give birth to a new nightmare, DCI John Luther must once again confront the depths of human depravity.
"As a series of monstrous killings becomes ever more audacious, Luther and new recruit D.S. Catherine Halliday are confounded by a tangle of leads and misdirection that seems designed to protect an unspeakable horror.
"But even as the case brings him closer than ever to the nature of true evil, a reluctant Luther must also face the ghosts of his own past. Striding back into the line of fire, he must choose who to protect...and who to sacrifice.
"Whatever his next move, it will have devastating consequences for those around him - and will change John Luther forever."
Bloody hell, sounds good this, doesn't it?
Luther is back later this year.
