The countdown is on until Game of Thrones season eight finally hits our screens, and as the anticipation continues to build for the concluding run of one of TV's most popular shows, hardcore and casual fans alike are asking just one question: how is it all going to end?

Of course, everyone involved - from HBO staffers to the actors and production team - has been sworn to secrecy, so the chances of finding out what exactly is going to happen are slim to none. But we do know one thing - it's going to put our feelings through the wringer.

In an interview with Sky News, Kit Harington (who plays Jon Snow) said the finale would be an emotional one.

"I think it's going to be emotional for everyone watching and everyone involved. In that I mean the whole thing ending, it's finishing," he said.

"I think viewers are going to be quite emotionally torn with it ending."

This isn't the only time the 32-year-old actor has commented on how heavy the final season will be.

In an interview with GQ Australia earlier this month, he said that filming the six episodes that make up GOT's final series was incredibly rough for him and everyone on set.

"The last season of Thrones seemed to be designed to break us," he said.

"Everyone was broken at the end. I don't know if we were crying because we were sad it was ending or if we were crying because it was so fucking tiring. We were sleep deprived.

"It was like it was designed to make you think, 'Right, I'm fucking sick of this.' I remember everyone walking around towards the end going, 'I've had enough now. I love this, it's been the best thing in my life, I'll miss it one day - but I'm done.'"

Of course, he wasn't the only cast member to give their opinion on the ending. In her own interview with Sky News, Masie Williams (who plays Arya Stark) described her own feelings on the show wrapping up .

She said: "I don't think anyone is going to be satisfied [when it ends]. I don't think anyone wants it to end but I'm really proud of this final season.

"It's going to be really weird when it's done and every day it's a step closer to it not being a part of my life anymore."

It looks like fans are set to be on the edge of their seats when April rolls around and GOT's final season finally drops.
