55 second Avengers Endgame scene will end the world in Doomsday in wild theory

Avengers: Doomsday is amongst the most highly anticipated films ever made, with Marvel deciding to bring back Robert Downey Jr to follow up on Endgame, the most financially successful movie ever.

With Marvel’s films stuttering in the years since they have made two major moves: bringing back RDJ as Doctor Doom and making Endgame way more vital of a rewatch for the next Avengers film.

Whilst the previous Avengers film was always going to be an important part of setting up the next one, the decision to pivot means that Marvel are now releasing Avengers Endgame: Encore, with four full extra minutes of pivotal scenes that will set up Doomsday ahead of its December release.

If some Marvel superfans are to be believed however you don’t need to wait that long to watch scenes from Endgame that are integral to the upcoming film, you can actually boot up Disney+ right now and watch one right now. If you really watch Endgame closely there is one seemingly quite wholesome scene which will likely instead lead to the end of the entire world in Doomsday.

The vast majority of attention for Doomsday has focused on the return of Robert Downey Jr after the death of Tony Stark in Endgame.

Whether it be theories about the colour of his eyes being off, about whether he’s even Doctor Doom, or whether he’s going to say “I hate you 3,000” to Tom Holland’s Spidey, it has distracted from the fact that Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers is also returning for the first time in Doomsday.

Endgame ended with an aged-up cap revealed to have time travelled into the past to be with Hayley Atwell’s Peggy in what could have been a brilliant end to the character.

Instead however, according to one Redditor, the seemingly wholesome 55 second scene at the end showing Steve and Peggy having the dance they had been denied from the first Captain America could be the trigger for everything in Doomsday.

The X-Men are back to die for what feels like the 9th time (Disney)

If you are just the average Marvel film fan you probably didn’t watch Loki, and if that’s true you massively missed out. The show (Marvel’s best on Disney+ by quite a distance) introduces the idea of timelines, showing that entire universes can become volatile and destroyed if you mess with them too much.

The trailers for Doomsday hints that heroes from multiple universes are going to end up fighting one another. Fox’s X-Men face off against the MCU Avengers in the most recent teaser alongside the MCU Fantastic Four, who are themselves in a whole other universe until the post-credit scene of Thunderbolts.

According to one fan on Reddit, the Endgame scene of Steve messing with time to be able to be with Peggy again isn’t just a small blip, but the final straw that will cause Universe-destroying collisions.

Between X-Men: Days of Future Past, where they change the past to set up a wholly new universe where multiple main characters didn’t die, and Fantastic Four, where Reed and Sue’s uber-powerful son Franklin brings his mother back from the dead, the theory suggests that all this time and universal shenanigans is finally coming home to roost.

This was all but confirmed when the latest Doomsday look had Doom telling the Avengers they had all been living 'stolen lives', with particular focus on Steve with a baby.

The trailers for Doomsday appear to show that Doom has somehow lost his wife and children from the incursions being caused by all the time-related nonsense brought about by the Avengers, X-Men, and Fantastic Four.

Avengers: Secret War is set to be the next Avengers project after Doomsday and, according to the comics, is set on Battleworld.

Battleworld comes about when Doom kills one of the fellas who run the universe, giving him the power to end the world and reshape it all. He creates ‘Battleworld’, a world of his own creation in which various heroes face off against one another for his own amusement whilst he lives as the ‘supreme god-king’. Subtle, I know.

Considering everything we’ve seen in the trailers, rumours that Secret Wars will follow the comics to allow for cameos-galore, and rumours that Tom Holland’s Spider-Man will play a large part in the sequel, it seems pretty clear that Doomsday will end with Doom winning and ending the world.
