Green Street 2 is 'in the works' after actor shares script

Green Street 2 is 'in the works' after actor shares script

Green Street 2.0 appears to be a thing

It's official, the GSE could be on their way back.

It seems as though a new Green Street movie could be on the cards after one of the movie's actors shared a script on his social media.

The original 2005 film saw Elijah Wood playing an American journalism student who gets caught up in the violent world of West Ham United’s fictional Green Street Elite firm.

He causes a lot of friction with their leader Pete (played by Charlie Hunnam) and his sidekick Bovver (played by Leo Gregory), in the story about the rivalry between West Ham and Millwall.

The film has always been a huge success, so it makes sense that fans would go wild at the prospect of a second instalment.

Taking to Instagram, Leo has had tongues wagging after sharing a photo of what appears to be a script.

He didn't write anything in the caption, but tagged film producer Dougie Brimson - who wrote the first movie - and clothing brand Weekend Offender, making the post even more intriguing.

Leo has previously launched several collaborations with Weekend Offender off the back of his role as Bovver.

He first worked with the brand on a Bovver t-shirt depicting the iconic pub scene from Green Street.

Following its success, they then decided to go one step further and 2020 saw the launch of his first signature capsule collection with the brand.

Dougie also posted the same image, captioning it: "Watch this space…"

In the image, the title reads, 'Green Street 2.0 Written by Leo Gregory and Dougie Brimson'.

And it's fair to say fans are going wild over the news, with many taking to the comments to discuss the possibility of a new movie.

One joked: "This will go down a treat, me and my dad being Millwall supporters and my mum West Ham…. Family get together will be fun so here for this!"

While another said: "Quality news. Nice one Bovva."

And a third added: "Me old mate, Bovver, you never could turn down a good scrap!"

Meanwhile a fourth commented: "Absolutely buzzing for this, COME ON BOVVERRRRRRRR."

Others meanwhile were desperate to know a release date already, but we reckon whatever they are working on is in the very early stages.

We can't wait to see how this pans out. Fingers crossed a new movie is on the way ASAP.
