Harry Potter star Jamie Waylett has a very different life following prison stint

Jamie Waylett was known for playing Malfoy's friend Crabbe in the first six Harry Potter films

Millions of people will recognise Jamie Waylett as one of Draco Malfoy's little posse in Harry Potter, but the Vincent Crabbe actor has a very different life now after spending time behind bars.

Waylett, now 34, stepped on to the big screen alongside Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson in the first Harry Potter movie, The Philosopher's Stone, and remained in the franchise across the following five films.

The Crabbe to Josh Herdman's Goyle, Waylett was known across the globe for his performance as a sneaky Slytherin, but he lost his place in the Wizarding World in 2009, when he was caught growing cannabis in his home.

Waylett was sentenced to community service, but in 2012 was jailed for two years after being found guilty of violent disorder for his involvement in the London riots.

While his former Harry Potter cast mates finished out the franchise and went on to star in new roles, Waylett put his time on the big screen behind him when he was jailed.

He now looks a lot different than he did in his Slytherin days, and has taken up a new money-making opportunity by creating videos on the celebrity website Cameo.

The site allows fans to pay for personalised videos created by stars, and on his page Waylett says: "What's going on people, it's your boy Jamie Waylett. I played Vincent Crabbe in the Harry Potter movies one to six and I'm very excited to have the opportunity to give the people and loved ones in your life that you care about a special message.

"That's it from me, I look forward to hearing from you. Slytherin for life."

The actor now has a face tattoo of stars above his eyebrow, as well as a full beard. It's definitely not the look Harry Potter fans are used to seeing from Crabbe, but of course he couldn't stay a Hogwarts student forever.

Waylett has been praised for his creations through the platform, with one Cameo customer writing: "I've been having great fun at Cameo this passed year. Received some great responses, though one of my most favourites gotta be from Jamie Waylett. Seems like such an incredibly great and kind guy. He played Vincent Crabbe in Harry Potter."

"Jamie Waylett is so freakin awesome. Lots of respect for the man," they added.

While Waylett has been entertaining fans on Cameo, his former on-screen best friend Herdman has been busy with projects of his own, including appearing in the TV series The Man Who Fell To Earth and White House Farm.
